You know how sometimes on tv they show an episode of parts of other episodes? Why? What's the point of taking old episodes and mashing them together, a time filler? Don't these people finish writing the story before they start filming/animating/whatever the hell they do? Not writing out the script to a tv show but producing it anyway is like writing half a book, sending it to publishers, and saying "I'll get back to you." It's like deliberately tipping the first domino halfway and trying to set up the rest before they've all fallen down.

If they have written the plot and know what they're doing, that makes a little less sense. I can understand a brief summary of the past few weeks every now and then, but to dedicate a whole episode to stuff we've seen already is like showing a bunch of compacted reruns, so it's a prerun. Also, from the new viewer's perspective, the person these episodes are meant for, I think, it's just a vague exposition that'll still leave questions that will only be answered by a regular viewer or by watching the old episodes. That there will be reruns at some point is a pretty good chance, so forcing a rerun just means that don't have to wait as long to not really know what's going on.

BOTTOM LINE: Clipshows are for filling time or trying to fill in people that missed the entire show for probobly several weeks and thus don't care at this point.
