Have you ever seen someone that turns on two lights in the same room on at the same time? Is there a point to this? If you can't see with one light on, I don't think that slight level of added brightness will help. It's redundant, like wearing multiple pairs of socks, smoking more than one cigarette at a time, or having 6 wheels on a normal car. Wait, cars have two lights, front and back...

BOTTOM LINE: Redundant things are redundant... and irriating.
