You can't even see the stars tonight;
You can just barely see the moon
Shining down
Through the cover of clouds
And filling the world
With ghostly shadows.
And the grass is black
And the trees are black
And this house is black,
Empty,
Silent.
The walls don't groan,
The stairs don't squeak,
The shutters don't whisper.
Everything just stares up
And waits for the moon
To conquer the clouds
And reclaim it's position
In the sky.
But the moon's been shot down;
We put a bullet through it
With our harsh words,
Fickle fancies,
Selfish actions.
So now it shrouds itself
With the cover of clouds
To mask the fact
That its luminescence is gone.

And boy, if you can cry at all, please don't cry for me.
I'll wait here on the ground in that place
Where the sky meets the sea.
Baby, don't make me be something that I'm not.
I'm here, I'm there, and everywhere,
Alive when you're all robots.
I'll wait here on the ground in that place
Where the sky meets the sea.
Baby, don't make me be something that I'm not.
I'm here, I'm there, and everywhere,
Alive when you're all robots.
