This is a poem I wrote for the Twilight series. The movie's coming out next month, and I'm expecting it to be a disappointment. Whatever. It's about Bella and Edward's first beginning, in Twilight, then their new beginning in Breaking Dawn. If you've read the series, you'll get it. If not.... then I haven't a clue.


Snow white skin.
Eyes like amber,
So old, so cold,
So warm, preserving me,
Preserving my life.

Touch like ice,
Hair like bronze.
Body like marble,
Can you hear my heart race?
Can you hear my breath stop?

Voice like velvet.
Imperfections have no place,
No definition,
On your sculpted face,
Your god-like beauty.

The gift of knowing,
You can hear the whispers,
Longings and fickle fancies,
But mine remain secrets.
You are my fickle fancy.

Men line up,
But you hold back.
When will they learn?
The only one I want, nay need,
Will forever be you.

Your touch, your embrace,
Grip like a vise,
So soft, so hard.
Trying not to break me,
I'm stronger than I look.

One night,
When you are mine.
One morning,
When I am bruised and battered,
But all I see is you.

The monster in me,
Tearing me apart,
Feeding on me.
But I love it,
Mine and yours.

Dieing, such pain,
My little monster is safe.
Your teeth, so sharp,
My heart stops.
What have I become?

Just like you,
Cold and marble-hard.
The blood-lust,
The self-control,
I am a shield.

Your touch like silk,
Warm against my skin.
No fear of breaking me,
I am no longer fragile.
We are alike.

The barrier from my mind,
I push forward,
I pull it back.
My no longer fickle fancies,
You know.
