I have been browsing around regarding the recent let goes at Gaia. I'm both happy to see some great outpouring of support and then disgusted by the way some people have been acting.

There is never a right way to go about doing this. Holding out until the end of the holiday will not change the inevitable. It will not make it easier. Losing your job is hard no matter what time of the year it is. If I lost my job tomorrow or in the middle of May I would be just as crushed.

This is not the situation to start a crusade against management, this is not the situation to call them out for being "wrong" or "heartless". I have never been in management, but both my senior co-workers have and they tell me it is one of the hardest things to do. Especially if you are a small team of workers and genuinely like your co-workers. It is not easy for them and it is not fair for us to attack them for it, we don't know what position they are in or how they are feeling.

But this is an unfortunate necessary evil of the world we live in.
