Looking at her with pained eyes
Saddened by her constant agony
I ask if I can help
But she says there's nothing I can do
Why did this happen to her?
Why not me?
Now she is gone, in this mansion of mine
Only rests two humans and a cat
They rest their weary heads from a long day
While I remain active, forced by my nocturnal mind
And I wish she was here
I wish so badly...
that Mother would just return from the hospital at last.
--
Rejoice! Rejoice! The day has arrived
She shall return to take up her long-awaited throne
At last, at last, my father and I
Quest our journey to retrieve our damsel in distress
She gives us that look for our antics
But the atmosphere is clear, finally
Now she rests well, without the portable IV
Beeping and screeching something awful
I glance over at her and can't help but smile
As I turn out the lights & the TV and gently close the door
My owl-like sleeping pattern is still prominent, but I do not mind
For everything has returned to its formal peace. Now...
that Mother has returned from the hospital at last.
