You were always suppose to be there,
but you never were, I lost you to the war,
you were to young to join but you did anyway,
why did you have to go away?,
now i'll never see your happy smile,
i'll never see the warm look upon your face,
I'll always here the stories of how you helped others,
But i'd rather here them from you,
so now I wear my poppy to show I remember,
that I lost someone dear to the fight for freedom,
I'll always remember.
he didn't have to fight but he did.
