Part 5
In a Shadow

Nagi listened to Hisoka's story, in fact much to his surprise Hisoka was more sympathetic about his powers. "So the whole time you were telling me the truth, that you didn't think I was a freak?" Nagi just sat on the couch staring out the window.

"Being an empath, I have to be honest, and no you're not a freak. Nagi-kun, why would you be, you're a good friend, not to mention, you're someone I wish I had met when I alive just to validate that it was worth living." Hisoka sighed, he wished that Nagi was truly there for him. "When I was in the hospital, I saw a boy, he was about thirteen years old, he was you. You and I became friends, but I pushed you away because I was scared that if I became attached you would betray me. My parents never had anything to do with me, but you were there to make me feel better. I came here to thank you for it."

Tsuzuki nodded his head and smiled. "Nagi, you're not alone, but we have to know what your connection to Muraki is."

Crawford gave a look of utter disappointment. "I know the connection, I knew the connection for years. I was just hoping if I kept it from Nagi that he wouldn't go searching for Muraki."

== Crawford's Story ==

I remembered the first night I saw you, Nagi. You were five years old, you were brought of a cloning chamber. At first I thought the experiment was going to faiil, but it turned out just the opposite. Muraki created you from different DNA strands from a student who passed away, her name was Naoe Kasumi. She was a telekenitic that was sort of a lover to Muraki.

You are a combination of his DNA and her's. I knew that when the doctors of Rozen Kreuz found out that the experiment was a success that they would prusuade Muraki to hand you over to them. So I set up a plan to kidnap you and spirit you away with me to Japan where I accepted a mission. I did a lot of convincing that it would be a bad idea to try and do more experiments on you.

One experimented in two deaths and an injury, Muraki lost his eye. You on the other were too young to know what was going on and as soon at it was over the cloning project was abandoned and your death was going to be arranged.

Schuldich meanwhile had found away to get into your room and smuggled you out and into Farfarello's cell. Then we ran off to Japan. Now you know.

== NOW ==

Crawford finished his story and just sat down, his eyes were down. "I spent several years trying to hide you from that mad scientist. Now that he is back, I can't even stand up to him. He ******** me up so badly, that even now I tremble at the mere sight."

Schuldich shook his head. "We can't fight him and we can't run. This is the Ministry of Hades problem, isn't it?"

"It runs a little deeper. According to our records, Nagi was supposed to die at the same time as Hisoka, but somehow the candle relight itself." Tatsumi looked at Nagi. "Can you explain how it happened?"

"No, I can't," Nagi whispered and shook his head confused.

"I know you can't, I think I understand what was going on. Muraki had found away to make Nagi live even when close to death. You remember all those times he reanimated dead corpses to do his bidding," Tsuzuki spoke up and smiled. "Well, he was feeding Hisoka's life to Nagi without knowing it. While at the lab, Nagi was feeding off the energy of the men who died. Nagi isn't just a telepath, he's JUST like Muraki."

Nagi ran off, his eyes wide, he ran into his room and slammed the door. "Dr. Muraki! I'm his son and I'm just like him. What if..."

"Nagi?" looking out the key hole he saw Hisoka sitting by the door. "Look, i know you're scared, I would be too. We just have to know, do you know you do this?"

"Like I know that, I don't know even when I was a child, I don't know anything about it. You act like I know? I don't know anything about my past. I only know what Crawford and Schuldich tell me!"

Nagi pushed himself onto the bed and looked out the window. He blinked and just felt like nothing mattered to him. He turned his head and noticed that the room had become black, pitch black, that was when he saw Muraki standing in the room. "Sometimes, you think that they will help you? Nagi, you're my child, I created you, you have to come home to me."

"No!"

Hisoka ran down to the dinning room and pulled the group upstairs. "Nagi, he's gone!"
