once there was a girl who sat on the rocks over looking the harbor. she would sing a sad tune for she was torn between two worlds. she could never be with the angel boy who she loved dearly, for she was nothing but a mermaid, and she could never go to him in the sky. he could not go to her either for he belonged to the sky just as she belonged to the sea. he would set presents to the young girl on that rock and thats where they would meet. they yearned for something more, but as the tide came in the rock would be underwater, and their time would be up. he left her a cat doll one day and said he would come back for her, but first, he must deal with the demons of the underworld, and she gave him a shell that hung from her neck.
she yearned to fly so she could be with her love, and she soon got her wish, for he died in battle, and as his last present to her, he gave her his wings. she now sits on that rock and sings again, but for a different reason. she sings for her love that died.
