It had been so long since anyone loved me, I had forgotten how it felt. My heart had grown so cold, I no longer knew how to love. I had become unlovable.

And then you came.

For a reason I could never comprehend, you love me. You wanted to spend time with me. Me! You were do popular, I don’t know how you managed not to notice how people’s eyes followed you as you walked. Or how they made a point of walking past you and greeting you, just to get you to smile in return. And for some reason, you chose me over any of them.

And oh, when you smiled! Your smile could make the sun shine brighter just by sheer love alone. And yet, it was me you gave the best smiles to. I got your secret smiles, the ones no one else saw. The ones that were meant for just me, that held a special meaning no one else knew.

I never have, and probably never will, understand how someone like you could love someone like me. It seems like a dream, or that it will end with the daylight.

Even if it does, even if tomorrow you never look my way again, say it one more time. Say you love me just one more time, babe, even if this ends tomorrow.
