Zero of the Spirits
Zero was an outcast in his town and his parents we’re often ridiculed for raising such an unusual child. The reason for all this negativity was the fact that Zero could do something that no other person could actually do, control and channel spirits of the dead. Even though Zero had used his powers to help in murder cases and to let people talk to a person that had departed the people of his town still considered him a freak with powers they considered unholy.
Our story begins on a night when Zero was sound asleep. Two spirits from alternate dimensions, light and dark, had been watching his powers grow and were waiting for the right moment to take over him. The only problem was they had planned it on the same night. The moment they had possessed his body something had happened, their powers combined inside Zero and the spirits had become part of him. His appearance changed almost instantaneously. His hair became pure white then black streaks appeared in it and his eyes became pure crimson.
When Zero saw what he had changed into he decided to leave his home, family, and what friends he had behind. He ran as far from his home as he could. “What would the people think of my parents and me if they saw what I look like now” Zero thought to himself for he knew it would only bring more ridicule to him and his family.
Zero had finally stooped running and sat along a broken wall of a street where there had been a freak accident a few days before. “It’s so weird what has been happening around here lately” he though thinking about all the weird things that have been happening around the city (a weird plane crash, this neighborhood completely and totally destroyed, skyscrapers that looked as though claws had scratched it, and not mention all the strange murders that have been happening). Zero began to wander around the old neighborhood when he suddenly saw something stirring behind on of the demolished building.
It was a demon from the Dark Dimension. It was at least 20 feet tall, claws and fangs sharper than razor blades, and eyes darker than the night sky. Zero then realized that all the accidents hadn’t been accidents at all but the work of these demons. The demon then realizing that Zero was there began moving towards him slowly. Zero backed away and then ran.
The demon chased Zero for the longest of times and Zero was running out of breath. Then the spirits talked to him in unison. “Zero, you must use our powers we will give you the knowledge and strength you need to use them” Zero then changed his direction and ran full force toward then jumped towards the demon kicking in the midsection and using some of the power from the spirit of darkness to increase the power of the blow. Zero then moved to the chest of the beast and spread his fingers and shot a ray of light through the demon killing it instantly. The beast’s body simply evaporated into the air as though it had never been there at all.

Three years later…

Zero was fighting a whole group of the demons at once. His strength and skills had greatly increased in his three years of fighting. “Come on is that all you got I have fought little kids tougher than you” he yelled at the demon drawing their attention from the people in the city. He then concentrated some dark energy into his palms and then launched it at two of the demons trapping them in place. Zero then used the light energy to destroy the two that were captured. After the demons had died something went terribly wrong, their bodies combined with the third demon’s…it was now far more powerful and formidable than before. It lumbered slowly towards Zero “Great, now what I am going to do” Though zero, then a voice spoke to him the spirit of light “I will now give you a new gift the Sword of Light”. There was a bright light then a sword of pure light appeared in front of Zero and he took and felt raw power of the weapon flow through his body. He then concentrated his own energy into the blade and swung it. The affect was instant it cut the demon cleanly in two and the demon itself evaporated like all his slain brethren before him.
Shortly after the defeat of the powerful demon a strange portal called The Rift appeared over the city skyscrapers. The people of the city wondered it was, but Zero figured it was something that was worth investigating. Zero climbed to the tallest skyscraper. If Zero hadn’t been sure that this portal was something of pure evil he would think it was a beautiful gate way to heaven. He wondered exactly how he was supposed to get into the portal when another voice, The Spirit of Darkness spoke “There is only one way to enter The Rift and that is to express your dark powers in front of it”. Zero put a barrier of pure dark energy around himself and suddenly The Rift pulling him in.
Zero entered the Dark Dimension and looked around. It was odd how it reminded him so much of hell, there was flames, darkness, demons everywhere, not to mention the blood curdling scream of a person being tortured. He was actually surprised at the same time the demons seemed not to pay any attention to him as long as he had that barrier around him, this was a good thing there were way too many of them for him to take on by himself.
He then saw a gigantic palace and headed for it maybe he could find some answers there. A Zero entered this unholy place he notices something extremely eerie about it…it looked exactly like the church he used to go to before he ran away. As he admired this living flashback someone entered a room. This was the ruler of the Dark Dimension, Chova Arcana. Chova’s hair was blood red, his skin was blacker than anything Zero had ever seen, and his eyes looked as though they could burn through someone’s soul. “So, you are the intruder in my dimension. I sensed and extremely strong source of dark energy I thought for a moment you were my son, Sonow, but he training at the moment. What brings you to this dimension? Have you come to join my forces in helping me conquer that other Dimension?”. “I saw this portal and thought I would investigate it because those demons of yours are killing people and destroying my world and as for your other question I would never join any one as evil as you!” Zero proclaimed to Chova. “Well I am sorry that you feel that way, but I cannot let anyone with this much power return to try and get in my way”. Chova then drew his sword, The Oni Blade, a scimitar like blade that was black and crimson. Zero seeing that Chova had drawn his blade drew his as well.
The fought for what seemed like hours until Zero was knocked out a window of the palace. Chova laughed and then gazed at Zero, smirking “Humph….That was one of the greatest fights that I have had in a long time I would hate for it end now”. He then lifted Zero’s body and flung him back through the portal.
He then called Sonow to him. “Sonow, I finally have a job for you I just sent one with power the is equal to or maybe even greater than yours. I want you to watch him and when you think that he wants to return to this world I want you to attack these people” he told Sonow and show then a magic projection “These are his family and friends when he wants to return he will have to fight you for this” and Chova handed the Key of Darkness to Sonow . With that done Sonow headed for our world and waited.

Six months later…

Zero Trained and became more powerful because he knew that he would have to train as hard as possible. In his time of training he discovered that he had the power to heal and purify souls of criminals and evil people. He also discovered that with his dark powers he could completely freeze time and move quickly by turning himself into a shadow and moving himself.
Sonow had been watching Zero during this time and did exactly as his father had instructed. He moved to Zero’s Home town and began to attack. Zero Watched the news, as he usually did so he could hear of any unusually accidents because it usually meant demons from the Dark Dimension, But as he watched it was not a demon but Sonow on the screen. Sonow looked more like a vampire than he did his father he had fangs and claws not like the demons and he wore a long black overcoat, jeans, and shoes but his skin, which actually was like his father’s, made these clothes look like a dark grey color.
After hearing this new Zero headed for his home town, Ecremmoc, to defend his loved ones. When he got there he saw Sonow Terrorizing his old friends, and saw their fear as they looked from Sonow to Zero wondering if Zero was just another being that came to terrorize their little town. Sonow was no longer a match for Zero any longer though. Sonow figured that Zero was just a push over and that in the six months that Zero Could not have become too much powerful, but Sonow was wrong in underestimating Zero’s capabilities. The battle was over before it even began and Sonow was killed by Zero in an instant.
Zero then noticed there was an odd key, The Key of Darkness, on the ground where Sonow’s body had evaporated and there were eight dots around the holding part of the key. The one that was pointing to the west was glowing and Zero knew that was the way that he was supposed to go.
Using his Shadow Step ability he quickly reached the city to which the key had been leading towards. Luckily this time the portal was at ground level at least. “So here I am again….but this time it won’t end like it had before” he thought as he remade his dark barrier and re-entered the Dark Dimension. The dark Dimension looked as it had on his last visit even the window that had been broken in his last battle with Chova was still broken. He once again approached the palace and entered the eerie entrance once more and discovered an old friend waiting for you. “So, you have returned to face me once more. I will not ask you to join my side again but I will ask you one last time to stay out of my way” Chova glaring with those blazing eyes. “Never, I am going to destroy you and then I am going to seal this Dimension from my world forever.” Zero said Angrily to Chova. “Fine, if that is the way that you want it then so be it”.
They drew their swords once more. The battle was unceasing and Chova and Zero had completely destroyed the palace and fought all over the Dark Dimension. Zero was beginning to get extremely tired, but he couldn’t lose. “Spirits I need your help” the spirits then spoke to him. “Don’t use our powers separately use them together combine our strength”. He then concentrated all his power, both light and dark, and shot a powerful beam of the combined energy at Chova. The combine powers completely overwhelmed Chova and he was defeated. The dimension began to fall apart though and Zero barely escaped.
Zero then returned to his family and explained about the night he left. His parent were happy to see him again and they announced during his absence that his little sister, Alia, had been born and often wondered who he was cause they had his picture over his house. When he got home he saw his little sister and told her and his parents all about his adventures.
