The Demon's Halo
Chapter 4
"Alex?!" Duke gasped.
"He's not Alex anymore Duke! Take my hand!" Damu screamed as the demon Alex's fist came and hit him in the jaw forcing him to stagger backwards.
Duke was terrified and didn't know who to trust.
"Duke! Take my hand now!" Damu yelled, Duke didn't move.
"You stuborn peice of...." Damu sneered ust as the demon ran at him again.
Damu jumped as Alex hit the wall.
"Wow. I knew made demons forget their sence of defense, but this is pathetic." Damu whispered. Taking the advantage he ran over to Duke and grabbed hia arm.

I sat on the couch watching Kirai doodle on the wall.
"You're not supposed to be doing that." I whispered. Her bright orange eyes looked at me.
"I know. But it's fun!" She smirked. I sighed deeply until suddenly Damu appeared, holding Duke in his arms.
"Duke! Damu!" I ran over to them then stopped. "You're hurt!" Refering to both of them. Duke's terrified eyes were looking at me.
"Dawn?!" He whispered in shock. Damu put him down.
I hugged Duke tightly.
"I'm so glad you're alright!" I said with a sigh of relief.
Duke was still looking at Damu.
"I told you to grab my hand..." Damu whispered.
"You're....good?" He whispered.
I released him and looked at Damu.
"He..... was a little stuborn." Damu whispered.
I smirked.
"Yes Duke. This is Damu. He's actually here to protect Dawn." Kirai said walking over.
"Protect Dawn?! From what? And your name isn't Darian?! Who are you?! What's happening?" Duke asked all at once.
Damu, Kirai and I all looked at each other.
"Kirai will explain everything. For now though, I can't stay." Damu said.
I looked up at him.
"What?! You're hurt! You're not goign anywhere!" I snapped.
"And you expect Prise to just come here all by himself?" Damu sneered.
Well, Kirai can go!" I offered.
"No she can't. If she steps out of that door she will be killed for betraying her own kind. And you are definetly not going out there. I'm the only one who can!" Damu said.
"But you're hurt...." I whispered.
Damu sighed.
"You know, you two are definetly cousins, both just as stuborn." Then he looked at me. I frowned.
"Fine. But I'm going wth you!" I said. Kirai and Duke looked over.
"You are not going out there Dawn!" Duke snapped.
"Yes I am! I'm going with Damu to look for Prise!" I said.
"No you're not!" Damu snapped. I looked at him in shock.
"And why can't I?!"
"It's too dangerous for you! They're after you! If you go out there you're signing up for your own exicustion!" Damu was practically screaming at me.
"I know..... but I'm worried about Prise..... I have to risk it...." I whispered looking into Damu's eyes. His golden eyes grew, then softened into a mix of compassion and sadness.
"Fine. You can come." He whispered.
"What?!" Kirai and Duke both shouted at the same time.
Damu picked Dawn up and dissapeared.

It's weird, teleporting from one place to another, I thought you would feel it, but I felt nothing except the arms of Damu holding onto me.
There was white everywhere though, no color at all except for us.
It was weird. But he had his big beautiful white wings out, and his eyes seemed to glow. It made me feel safe. The next thing I knew we were on the roof of Prise's house.
"Don't make one sound!" Damu whispered at me as he crawled over to the edge.
"There are no demons here yet...... not that I can see or sence." He whispered.
He walked over and took my hand and we were suddenly inside the house.
I recognized it, we were in Prise's bedroom.
"Where do you think Prise is?" I whispered.
Damu was silent.
"Stay here. If anything happens call for me." Damu said and left the room.
After about a minute, I began wondering around the room.
Looking at the pictures, and his clothes lying on the floor that he never picked up.
It smelled like him and made me smile. Then the door cracked open and Prise entered.
"Dawn?!" He gasped.
"Prise! You're alright!" I ran into his arms.
He hugged me tightly.
"What happened? Why are you here?"
"There are dmeons after me, and Damu and I came looking for you, I thougth maybe they came after you!" I smiled, a tear of relief falling down my cheek.
"No Dawn, I'm fine. But what do you mean 'demons'?"
"I'll explain more later, I'm just glad you're alright Prise."
I looked up at him and he smiled, placeing his lips onto mine.
I felt so safe and happy in Prise's arms. He moved his hands up and down my back as he kissed me. I felt so content there, but then, something wasn't right.
I don't kow why, but I had the worst feeling in the back of my mind. I pulled away.
"Dawn? What's wrong?" Prise asked.
I was silent. Prise took the advantage to kiss me again, then as I became distracted by him, a sharp pain peirced my side. I screamed, and looked down. A dagger was stabbed into me, and I looked back at Prise, to see his blue eyes turn black.
