Trees sway in the breeze.
Clouds move lazily overhead.
It's such a beautiful day.
To bad today I'll be dead.
The sun is shining brightly.
The smell of flowers in the air.

The world keeps on spinning,
But no one is winning.
The mothers begin to cry.

Bullets and blood.
Dead bodies in the mud,
But the planet doesn't care.
Explosions and screams.
Shattered childhood dreams,
But there's still plenty fresh air.
It's such a beautiful day,
But it's one of the worst days.

The sniper holds his breath.
I can feel the calm before the storm.
He pulls the trigger.
He's got perfect form.
The shot rings true.
My body hits the ground.
There's no one else there.
My body's never found.
The war is over for me.
The highest price I had to pay.
But the others fight on,
While I get to enjoy the beautiful day.

as the soldiers find their worth.
