Sitting up against the rain and rants that are coming from all directions
Waiting to see them collide above me and shatter
Showering me with their violent praises of all that is wrong with who I am
Knowing only that I am not who they are, but who they are not brave enough to be

What a waste of your useless time
Please take away your ugliness
And leave me to the solace of my life

Together, there is always a black tide of emotions that sting my face
Letting me know that I am forever alone with them at my back
Taking the time to show me why they can't find their way to Heaven
And blaming the youngest generations for the wrongs in their lives

Making me answer the questions of you children
Is it not the right thing to do; to die

Never taking your rightful place in the back of the minds of your charges
Pushing back against your own rules and the fences you used against me
Now go to your rooms and ponder my existence and the pain I don't bleed
Trusting in the wishes that I don't utter for your graying eyes

What a waste of my time
Inventing the things you use to fight me
Biting my lips waiting for the futures light
