A Vampire's Heart
Chapter 5
I couldn't believe it, Angelus was right in front of me!
"Jaine! We have to get out of here, now!" He gasped.
"I was finally aware of the sounds of painful howling.
"What about Wesley?" I asked.
"He's fighting Riley right now, that's why I was able to escape! Come Jaine! It's unsafe here!" Angel grabbed my wrist and began running.
"Angel? You're not hurt! Tey didn't hurt you?!" I relized.
"No, that's what they were going to do right before Wesley attacked Riley, Riley was going to sacrifice me to the Tempter demon." He gasped.
I looked at his long shoulder lenth silvery black hair. His hair was the same color as mine.
Then I heard a loud scream of pain and I looked back hoping that it wasn't Wesley.
"Don't look back Jaine! Wesley can take care of himself!" Angel snapped and squeezed my hand harder.
I looked back at Angel, he looked back at me.
"I'm glad you're not hurt Jaine." He said.
"And why's that?"
"I care too much about you." Angel said and turned away.
I felt myself blush.
"He cares about me?" I thought.

Riley tosses Wesley to the ground.
"You're pathetic Wesley, your ankle is slowing you down." Riley sneered.
Wesley growled and swipped at Riley's leg, he staggered back and slipped on a damp leaf.
Wesley blinked.
"That was slightly pathetic..." He whispered and stood up.
He ran over to Riley and grabbed him by the throat before he could stand up.
Riley kneed Wesley in the stomach tripped him so Riley was pinning Wesley down instead.
"Riley's right....... my ankle is slowing me down....." He thought.
"Dammit!!"
"you look pale brother, is it because of all the blood you've lost? Or is it because you're scared?" Riley sneered.
He grabbed Wesley's throat and picked him up.
"Maybe...... I won't kill you yet.....This brings back old memories Wesley. Of you and that pathetic excuse of a vampire cat. Weren't you, I don't know, beaten half to death?" Riley sneered.
Wesley recalled the memory and winced as Riley clamped hard.
"That was so much fun. So much fun even, I wanna do it again!" Riley laughed.
"You're discusting...." Wesley growled and with the energy he was saving up he jabbed his hand straight through Riley's chest.
Riley's eye's pop open in shock, but then, Wesley relized he missed his heart!
"No....... dammit......." Wesley thought.
Riley began to chuckle.
"You have poor aim little brother......" Riley gasped and punched Wesley hard in the stomach.
Wesley was officually out of energy.
Riley dragged Wesley into the wolf base and literelly threw him into a cell.
"I'll be back brother!" Riley sneered.
Wesley tried his hardest to sit up, but he had no energy.
"I've lost too much blood........" He thought.
He collapsed on the cold damp floor.
"Wesley?" A voice asked.
Wesley knew that voice. He turned his head around and saw who was addressing him. It was Angelus!
"Angel! You're alive!" He gasped.
"In a matter of speaking..... they've beaten me half to death......" Angel whispered.
Wesley sighed. Then his mind went to Jaine.
"Jaine! I really hope she's alright......" Wesley whispered.
"Jaine? Is the she here?" Angel asked.
"She came with me, but I told her to wait for me in the forest......." Wesley whispered. "I just hope Riley or that evil demon don't get their hands on her."
"Did Corona come as well?" He asked quietly.
"No, Corona's still at the castle...." Wesley said.
"And I hope that's where Jaine is...." Wesley thought.

"Angel? Why'd we stop?" I asked.
"I don't smell Riley anymore, we're safe." Angel panted.
I could'nt help worry about Wesley.
Angel looked at me.
"You should'nt worry about that mutt, Jaine. It was his choice." Angel said.
"'Mutt'?! You have never called Wesley that before?! You two were like brothers!!" I gasped. Angel looked at me.
"I only acted that way infront of Vex. I don't really like him." Angel sneered.
My heart jumped. All that time, Angel was just pretending to like Wesley?!
"And besides, I've always hated him because you care about him." Angel said.
"What?! I don't care a thing about that wolf!" I snapped.
"Really? You can hide your emotions well, but your eyes will never lie, you may say and think that you don't care about him, but your eyes are saying different.
And that's what I don't like, because I love you Jaine, I always have." Angel said looking into my eyes.
My heart was skipping, and I had so many things running in and out of my mind.
"Angel loves me?!" I thought. Before I could say one syllible, Angel's lips came down on mine.
I instantly blushed and froze in shock.
"Angel?!" I whispered when we parted.
"I'm so glad your were not hurt, my princess." He smiled.
I smiled as well to my surprise.

"What?! No!!" Wesley growled as Riley backed away.
Angel looked over at him in horror.
Riley began laughing.
"Why do you care Wesley? She's just a vampire after all." Riley smirked.
Angel was discusted.
"If that creature hurts Jaine, I swear I'll kill you!!!" Wesley screamed.
Riley laughed and walked away.
Wesley collapsed to his knees.
Angel sighed.
"So the tempter demon is with Jaine?" He whispered.
Wesley nodded and collapsed.
"I'm gonna kill him!...... I'll kill them!!" Wesley screamed.
