Warning: This entry is quite long! >>;;

First, the health update...
So... I ended up going to the doctor on the thursday after FanimeCon was over. (May 29th) WHAT a headache. My doctor was 'on vacation till next week', and I was told that he had no covering physician, so my options were, 'make an appointment next thursday (June 5th) or go to urgent care'.

Having never been to urgent care, I asked what it was and how to find it. 'Just go to the one nearest you.' Okay, said I, but how do I find it?? 'Just go to the nearest hospital and go to the emergency room.' stare So in other words, she was as clueless as I was.

I had to call my insurance company to get them to tell me where the urgent care centers covered under my plan were. But was told that without a dr. referral, they could charge me up to $100 co-pay if they chose. stressed So I decided to change doctors instead. Had to find one, then call the insurance company back, get it set up. Called the new dr. office, only to find they had no appointments available for new patients until the following tuesday (June 3rd). However, they did refer me to their -own- urgent care center.

So, after spending quite literally 3-4 hours and all of my morning on the phone between coughing fits, I finally was seen by a doctor at their urgent care center, and they gave me a prescription of antibiotics. 10day presc. I felt a lot better after I started taking them, but didn't get well. sweatdrop I finished the 10days, then started getting worse again, went back to the doctor again on the 11th of June, and was given a second prescription for a different antibiotic, 5 days this time.

So by June 15th, I was finally well. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Now a gaming/books/movies update....
So far, I have still failed to finish FFIII crying I still need to run around and master the Knight job. Le' sigh.
However, my friends and I have finally completed Pokemon Colosseum! Ho-Oh shall soon be ours!!!
I'm also almost done with Pokemon Ruby. Have all 8 badges and now just need to level a bit more and stomp on the E4. 3nodding

For books, I've torn through the rest of Laurie King's Mary Russell books, as well as her Kate Martinelli series. I enjoyed the Russell books, but the Martinelli books were a bit gloomy for my tastes. Especially since, as mystery genre books, far too often the vicitims are children. Good books, but not really for me.

I've also been reading the Septimus Heap books from the youth section of the library, and I have The Lost Colony - one of the more recent Artemis Fowl books at the top of my current 'to be read' stack. I needed some more lighthearted reading after all those child victims.

In the way of movies... I never did get to see SpeedRacer. I guess I'll have to see it on DVD when it comes out. Which reminds me, need to rent Water Horse sometime too. I did manage to see the new Narnia film (a few corny bits, but still good), the new Indy film (YAY Indy... though the ending could have been improved), and last night I let myself be dragged out to see Kung Fu Panda (which was better than I expected it to be - I really enjoyed it.) Oh yes! And I DID see Iron Man too. <3 Need to own that one when it comes out on DVD.

Speaking of DVD's... in between all my reading and gaming I haven't watched a lot of DVD's in the last month, but I did watch the full series of 'Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses'. mrgreen

Looking Forward....
So, now that I'm well again and the frantic activity for Fanime is past, I'm looking forward to my plans for the next few months, which include....
-Liesurely planning for how to get things done sooner for Fanime this year
-Attending my second Otakon convention (first was 2006)
-Trips to GA with friends
-More swimming (yay!)
-Trips to SF with friends (<3 for SF)
-Beach Party! (I do believe this will be my first ever.)
-Attending my first major concert with artists I already know and love.

PS: GA stands for Great America (theme park w/ water park) and SF stands for San Francisco. ^^

This is not long. ^^

Glad you are feeling better. My family is lucky to live very close to a good private hospital, so I can only think about the headache of just finding someone to treat a headache.

Iron Man was very cool.

The second half of this year looks pretty exciting for you~ whee Best wishes
