The Lost Demon
Chpater 7
Damu continued to knee infront of me, dripping with blood.
I looked around and gasped.
No one was moving, everything except us were frozen.
"What?" I whispered.
"I cast a spell that froze everyone except us. I also made everyone forget what just happened. When It wears off they wont remember anything about this." Damu whispered quietly.
"Would you like some help?" I asked.
"No. Just go Dawn. I need some time alone right now." Damu slowly stood up, opened his wings slowly and flew off, dripping blood.
I looked at the puddle of blood.
"How are we supposed to explain how all this blood got here?" I thought.
I sighed, knowing what I had to do.
Before the spell wore off, I found a wild rabbit and twisted its neck.
"Sorry little guy, but I had to do this." I whispered as I layed the rabbit's body infront of the tire in the puddle of blood.
I walked off and just as I reached the sidewalk, I heard the world begin again and the sickning sound of the car running over the rabbits body.
People gasped, but I didn't look. I just kept walking.

Damu flew over to the river to wash up. He was already begining to heal.
"I'm not healing as fast as I normally do..." He whispered.
"Damu...." A voice called.
He recognized it clearly.
"Sin?"
"What are you doing Damu? Have you gone mad?!"
It was Sin!
"What?" Damu whispered.
"Putting yourself in the way of a car to save a human girl! And using your power to make sure she was safe?! What has happened to you Damu?! Do you never want to return?!" Sin roared.
"Sin, please! Forgive me! I didn't know what I was doing!" Damu pleaded.
"Damu, I'm afraid this cannot be overlooked. This is your new chance. You must show no compassion towards that girl, or any other human if you really want to return home." Sin said.
Damu was silent.
"Yes sire." He whispered.
"Damu.... Don't let me down again. You are a wonderful demon. I want you back, but if you continue to feel for these creatures I'm afraid you wouldn't be aloud here. You would have a soul. Damu, I am taking away your powers as punishment. Do not dissapoint me again Damu." With that Sin's voice left.
Damu looked at himself in the river.
"Now what? At first I just wanted to take Dawn to Hell with me..... but now..... Why did I do that? Why did I protect her?" Damu thought.
"Demons cannot have a soul! I will not!" Damu whispered.
But, everytime he closed his eyes he saw Dawn's face.
"Why is this happening to me?" He thought.

"So, where'd Damian go off to?" A girl asked as I walked by.
It was Presilla, or Presa. (That's what we call her)
"He went home." I said.
"Are you two going out or something?" Presa asked.
"Damian and I are not going out!" I said, but then I thought of him, saving me from that car..... He is very brave..... I shook my head quickly to clear my head.
"Damian really seems to like you Dawn.... You're lucky. I think he's gorgeous."
Presa said.
"You..... can have him if you like. Just ask him out." I said.
"I'm too shy." Presa blushed.
"I'll tell you what, I'll talk to Damian for you, if you'll be my friend." I asked.
Presa looked up at me.
"Alright." She smiled.
I smiled. Because of Damu, I now have one more friend.
When I returned home that day, Damu was in my room.
"Damu! There you are! Are you alright?" I asked walking over to him.
He did'nt look at me, he just sat in the window sill, looking outside, not saying one word.
"Damu?" I asked.
He glanced at me, then looked away again.
"What's wrong? Please talk! After you saved me today, I kinda figured, we could be.... friends?" I whispered.
Damu looked at me.
"I don't have my powers anylonger." Damu sneered.
"What?"
"Sin took them away because I saved you!" Damu said.
"Sin? Is he like..... the devil or something?" I asked.
"Sin works for him. He's the leader of all demons. Right now, I might not be able to return to Hell." Damu said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because of YOU Dawn! I had a plan to bring you to Hell! What I didn't plan on was I actually have feelings for you! Feelings that I shouldn't even have! Demon's have no souls! Because of you, I'm building a soul! And it's torturing me!" Damu yelled.
"Then..... why don't you just kill me....." I whispered.
Damu stood there, snarling then sighed.
"That's the problum.... I can't. I know I'm not supposed to, but I care too much about you already." Damu went silent.
"I can't stay around here anymore, If this continues I'll be kicked out of Hell!"
"Why is that such a bad thing?! Isn't Hell full of law breakers and bad people?! Why would you want to go back so badly?" I asked.
"You don't understand Dawn! If I'm kicked out of Hell I will become a human! And I will be weak..... and If I die, Heaven would never accept me because I was formally a demon! I would be a wadering soul! That can't happen to me!" Damu sneered, unfurled his wings and flew away.
"Damu!" I called after him, but he was gone.
