Chapter 11
Riley walked in holding a gun in his hand.
I snapped out of my unconsciousness and looked back at Riley as he pointed the gun at me.
"This is fun." Riley sneered with a hint of laughter. I stood up and stood over Aya, protecting her.
"I'm becomeing a monster as it is.... If I'm going to die here, it won't be as a monster. I will protect Aya." I thought snarling.
Riley looked at me, laughter and entertainment was clearly written on his evil face.
"See you later." He laughed. I closed my eyes, I heard him get the gun ready, when the door slammed open knocking Riley to the ground.
"AYA!!" It was Maximillion! To my surprise I smiled.
"Max!" Aya gasped, it was barely a whisper. "Max!" I looked back at her. Tears were pouring down her cheeks as she stared wide eyed at Max.
I moved over as Max ran up to Aya.
"Aya! Thank God you're alright!" Max took Aya's head in his hands and kissed her.
They were both crying, it was kinda hard to watch. Then I saw my mother, Cara and Victor walk in.
"Oh my God, Vex you are here!" My mother whispered, ran over and hugged me.
"Victor, get Aya out of that thing!" I told him.
(Victor arrived just a second ago)
Victor nodded and released the chains and ropes from Aya.
Aya fell, instantly stood up and wrapped her arms around Max.
"Oh Max! I thought you were dead! I saw you fall in the river! Get swept away! You sunk! How'd you survive?!" She was practically screaming through her tears.
"It's a long story Aya, but I'll explain it later. All that matters is we're alright and together again." Max kissed her again and hugged her tightly, and I saw something that I havn't seen in a long time from Max. He smiled.
"Max...." Wesley whispered.
Max looked.
"God Wesley..... what did they do to you?" He whispered when he saw Wesley's empty scarred right socket where his eye used to be.
"I'll explain some other time..... Help me before Christopher returns.." Wesley whispered.
Max left Aya and picked Wesley up from his bed.
"Can you walk?" Haine asked him.
"No..... I could'nt even sit up..." Wesley whispered.
"Let me carry him." A voice said. I looked. My father was standing in the doorway holding the dead body of Christopher. Even Victor was speechless.
"How did you kill him?! He's powerful..." Victor whispered.
"Well, he seemed easy to me, just goes to show how strong I actually am." Jake said. My mother ran over to him and hugged him.
"I've missed you Jacob, how's Jaine?"
"Still in denile, we can erase her memory later if you like?" Jake said.
"No, well, maybe. I'll think about it." My mother said.
Aya hugged Max again.
"Let's go home now." Max whispered and walked out the door, a limping Aya at his side. As everyone began leaving, I was the only one who remained in that room.
I looked at my hands.
"I can't remember a thing about what happened." I thought.
"I black out, and when I return to reality, I'm about to stab my best friend..... I'm becoming a monster...."
"Vex?" Cara ran over to me. "You coming sweety?"
I looked at Cara, her eyes conserned.
"Yeah.... I'm coming..." I hugged her and walked out of the room.
-----an hour later--------
We are all back home. Aya was in her room with Max, My mother was with Jake talking to my reluctant sister, Victor went home and Wesley was in the hospital wing.
Cara was there taking care of him. I was in the restroom, looking at myself in he mirror.
I sighed deeply. My pitch black eyes were still there, along with razor sharp teeth, black claws and now, I had some strange ancient looking marks on my face running from the sides of my neck to my cheeks.
I looked horrifiying.
"Vex?" Max walked in and stopped breathing when I looked at him.
He saw my markings and let out a huge sigh.
"Do it Max...... Kill me... please.... I can't control or fix this, they were wrong.
I already tried to kill Wesley and Aya... I don't want that to happen again.
Just kill me Max..... Please!" I sighed looking at him.
Max was silent.
"I'm sorry Vex.... I know I promised you, but I just can't." Max whispered.
"You promised! You promised you'd kill me if this thing took over! It's taken over my mind once already! It's only a mater of time! Kill me!!" I screamed.
"Vex?!" Cara ran in and my heart shattered.
"I'm sorry Cara. I love you." I whispered and ran out the door.
"Vex!" Cara screamed.
"Vex!" Max yelled and began chasing me.
I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, then I ran out the door of the castle and ran as fast as I could.
"I gotta loose Max!" I thought. "If he won't kill me, I'll kill myself. I won't let anyone get hurt."
Eventually, I lost Max. I found a quiet spot and looked at the knife in my hands.
"I'm not letting this thing take me over." I whispered and aimed the knife to my chest. An inch away from my chest, I heard something in my head.
"Vex, you don't want to kill yourself. We could become the rulers of the world! Just you and me Vex. Think about it, all that power!" the voice snarled.
I froze, it was the Tempter demon inside me.
"I'm going to do this.." I whispered, but the demon now controled my arms and stopped me from stabbing myself.
"Think about it Vex! You can have everything you ever wanted! What about that girl Aya? You still love her don't you?"
My heart pounded. It was true, I still loved Aya. But then I instantly thought of Cara.
"No..... I love Cara! And I'm going to die right now so I can't hurt her!" I screamed and tried pulling at my arms to get them back from the demon.
"Face it Vex, you can't kill yourself, you can't even fight." The demon whispered.
"Shut UP!!!!!" I screamed and my hands went flying away from my chest sending the knife in the air. "I'm not going to live....... I have to kill this demon....... I have to kill myself...." I panted. "For Cara's sake."
I crawled over to the knife and held it to my chest.
"Good-bye, Cara." I sighed.
"No! Don't!" The tempter demon screamed and I stabbed myself.
