A Vampire's Soul
Chapter 9
"Thank you. Now, let's go save Aya and Wesley."

"Aya?" Wesley whispered as he awoke.
"What's wrong Wes?" she whispered.
"I'm healed......" He sighed sitting up.
"Don't sit up! Pretend you're still injured! Lie back down you idiot!" Aya snapped, but a little too loudly. A second later Chris and Riley walked in.
"Well, all healed I see? Riley, you know what to do." Chris laughed.
"About time. Took long enough." Riley sneered and grabbed Wesley.
"Wesley!" Aya gasped.
"You agreed to this Aya. Don't forget that." Chris smiled at her, her tail fluffed and she glared at him.
"You are the most inhumane person I've ever known." she sneered.
"Thank you." Chris smiled and left with Riley as he dragged Wesley's body out of the room.
Aya looked at the door as it closed and remained looking at it for a while.
Slowly, her mind reminded her that she was alone in this room being tested on while Wesley was only one room away being beatin half to death again.
Slowly, Aya gave in and began to cry.
"Max!" She screamed. "Maximillion! Where are you?!"

I looked over at Max. Ever since he agreed to kill me if I ever went evil, he's been very quiet.
"Max? What's wrong?" Haine asked him before I could.
"I'm thinking about Aya...... I'm so worried about her." Max sighed.
"I know you are Max, you love her. I was worried everytime Jake did something stupid or got into trouble. That's what love is. Worrying about someone and loving them so much it hurts." Haine sighed after. I watched them.
I saw the look in Max's eyes, knowing he once loved Haine so much.
"It must've been painfull for him finding out my mom loved Jake so much."
I though, then when sullen.
"Then again..... I know what that's like as well....... Aya......." I began to feel tears form behind my eyes, but I blinked them away. I looked back at Cara.
She smiled at me and ran over.
"You alright Vex?" she asked.
I smiled.
"I'm........fine Cara. Don't worry. I'm fine." I smiled and kissed her.
She hugged me tightly.
"I know you're worried about Aya, Vex. She was very important to you." Cara sighed looking into my eyes.
"You're right. I am worried, but I still have you Cara." I whispered and kissed her again.
"Vex, Cara, we need to hunt. We havn't eaten in a whole day." my mother said.
As our lips separated so did our bodies.
"She's right, I'm starving." Cara smiled, her fangs sharp ready for food.
"Alright. Let's go hunting." I laughed.
------midnight-------
The pain came back. It was worse then before. I huddled my knees into my chest and grabbed the top of my head screaming in agony, thinking that if I released my hands I was going to explode.
"Vex! Alright sweety, try to calm down!" It was my mother's voice. I felt her hand touch my shoulder, but it sent a cold chill throughout my body. I screamed.
I heard Cara crying. Max was beside me, supporting my head.
It seemed like an hour went by before the pain eased away.
"Vex....." Cara cried.
My mother was upset.
"It's getting worse...... Your hands......" She whispered.
I looked at my hands, my nails where now black claws. As sharp as talons.
"No....." I breathed.
Cara ran over and hugged me tightly, fear in her eyes.
"I'm not letting you go bad Vex! I'm not letting you!" She cried.
"Don't worry Cara. I already promised, I'm not leaving you." I whispered, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew I might not keep that promise.
"Hey! Get down!" Max whispered.
We all ducked under the fallen log beside us.
"What is it Max? Who is it?" I asked.
Max didn't answer. Anger burned intensly in his eyes.
"Max?" Haine whispered.
"It's him..... Riley!" He growled.
"Riley?!" I gasped.
"I'm gonna kill him!!!!" Max sneered, fire burning in his eyes.
