A Vampire's Soul
Chapter 8
Two pitch black eyes were looking at me, and they were mine.
I fell from shock.
"No..... I can't be...... I'm not gonna go bad am I mom?!" I asked.
My mother sighed.
"There is a slight possibility that a Tempter demon will remain the same, but they are different then regular demons. A regular demon has a 50/50 chance of remaining conscious, but a Tempter demon only has a 10% chance. I'm sorry Vex, but you may go bad." My mother said with a heavy heart.
I was in awe, I couldn't every imagin going bad, let alone hurting the ones I love.
"Mom?" I asked after a long silence.
"Yes Vex?"
I looked at her.
"What if I hurt someone? What if I hurt you? Or Aya? Or Cara?!"
Suddenly my eyes started pouring out tears.
"I don't want to go bad!" I sobbed as Cara hugged me.
"You won't Vex. You're too nice of a person to go bad. And I love you too much."
Cara's voice soothed me, and I soon relaxed and hugged her back.
"I'm worried Cara." I admitted.
"I know you are Vex..... I am too." I felt a tear fall down her cheek and land on mine.
My mother sighed. I looked up at her.
"How long does it take? To fully become a Tempter demon?" I asked.
"You've already began a while ago." She whispered.
"What?"
"When I awoke you last night, it wasn't a nightmare that caused that screaming it was the tempter demon inside of you. I should've known better!" My mother sat down, tears of shame falling down her face.
"Yes, but how long do I have?" I asked.
"A month or less. No one can ever be sure." My mother whispered.
I sat there in silence, holding Cara, never wanting to let go.
"Where's Aya?" A voice broke us out of our trance.
I looked at the door, Max stood perfectly healthy and serious.
After all I just found out about me, I smiled at the sight of Max.
"Max, Aya and Wesley are being held prisoner in the werewolf castle." Cara told him.
"And Aya's being tested on." I added silently, but Max heard me.
"Tested?! What do you mean being tested on?!" Max snapped.
"They're doing tests on Aya because she's a vampire and a neko." Haine explained.
Max scowled.
"Filthy scientists! Their gonna so die!" Max growled.
Then Victor arrived out of the cave.
"Maximillion is all better now. Where are you all going might I ask?" Victor asked.
"We're going to rescue Aya and Wesley from the werewolf castle." Cara said.
"Werewolf castle?" Victor asked.
"Yes." I said.
"My brother is there." Victor said with an angry face.
"Your brother?" Haine said, shock in her eyes.
"His name is Christopher. He is the lead scientist there. Anyone he does tests on ends up dying. And if you said they're testing Aya, she is in danger." Victor said.
Max's eyes grew wide with fear.
"Aya!" He whispered and that fear turned into anger.
"I'll kill him if he harmed Aya."
I stood up and walked over to Victor.
"Victor, I just found out I'm becoming a Tempter demon, is there anyway you can stop this?" I asked.
Victor looked into my eyes.
"I am sorry Vex, but no. A Tempter demon can not be stopped once it has chosen a body to live in. The only way to get it out is to kill its transportation."
"So it's eithar take my chance with the Tempter demon and possibly go bad and hurt the people I love, or die?" I whispered.
Everyone was looking at me now.
"Max?" I walked over to him.
"Yes Vex?"
"If I do go bad, I want you to do something for me." I said.
I paused.
After a long silence, I took a deep breathe and said,
"If I go bad, If this Tempter demon takes over my body, I want you to kill me."
I said. "Will you do that for me?"
"Vex, no!" Cara gasped.
"Cara, I love you. I love you so much! But if this thing takes over I could kill you! I don't want that to happen, so this is the only way out!" I snapped at her and looked back at Max.
"Yes, I will kill you if the Tempter demon takes over." He agreed with sorrow in his eyes.
"Thank you. Now, let's go save Aya and Wesley."
