so, since i've been here last, the food chopper has been fixed, and i've started a you! on a diet myspace profile in which i write about my walks, but, guess what: i started to write about food there, too~!
here's an excerpt and a link:
*when mysore figs are ripe they lose their fuzz and smell absolutely tempting... but when i used to box the branches for the rhinos in horticulture it made me itchy.
*hyacinth macaws probably taste awsome because they eat nuts often. (this is what happens when you visit the zoo with a demented chef)
.....
i’ll tell you what, though: working as a food prep person for the birds is really making me crave what they eat. (well, not the insects or mice...) i test taste the fruit whenever i can, and (da da dummmmmm!)
HERE’S WHAT I LEARNED FROM WORK:
*papaya tastes better the redder it is on the inside. go with sunrise papaya (same size as hawaiians, but LOTS tastier), second best is a soft yellow mexican papaya.
*mission figs are great dried. the amount of fiber in it also saves you from hunger pains.
*red apples have thicker skins than yellow apples, but the two are dietarily interchangeable, along with pears. carrots and yams are apparently interchangeable as well.
*fresh green beans and yams/sweet potatoes make awsome fries. just use tempura batter. actually, they’re great raw, too!
*different fish, whether frozen or not, have different smells, some smell great. smelt is funky, and mackerel smells great. they’re all pretty rainbow, though.
*kiwi diet smells pretty good for what’s in it... i wouldn’t eat it, though. everybody thinks i’m crazy/strange for thinking that. ((kiwi diet consists of "less active" dog food(mostly grain based), red apple bird pellets, banana, mixed greens, low iron fruit mix (papaya, apple, pear), but here’s the kicker: ground horse (not just meat - bones, intestines and all.))
......
Valleah! On a Dietwell... i still haven't done my walk with my dog, so... i gotta get going~!
much love... v
