You know... I realize that this journal is boring and extremely mundane. I used to write things that were more personal back in the day, but age and life have taught me that one, writing personally is a way to get yourself into trouble (whatever you say can and will be used against you) and two, writing about how one feels on what is the equivalent of a worldwide stage is somewhat uncomfortable.
Having said that, let's get mundane!

Y'all know that I like my job (two raises in 5 months, lead position, full time status and benefits), but the job seems to get better and better as I explore the depths of the benefits. As you may or may not know, I am a computer technician for a retail store.... a lead technician as of a week or two ago. Since I am in retail, though, I have available to me a ton of vendor training programs designed to give me lots of extremely discounted stuff based solely on my willingness to complete training modules on their products. Well... I'm good at tests. Really good. Damned excellent, if you want the truth. I rock tests. So... I've amassed the maximum discounts available in a short period of time. What does that mean to me? Well... I got a business quality printer, normally $160, for $30 after my product knowledge rebates and a general $30 rebate in-store (though not my store).
Psst. Why don't you ever tell us WHERE and WHAT?
Because it isn't pertinent unless you want a job, and it is a good habit to have, not telling all.
I'm hoping to pick up a digital camera and some software in the near future. A digital camera would be a nice backup to our SLR camera, and software is just.... well.... nifty. The software is supposed to be free after shipping, so I'm looking forward to having my account validated. I have my eye on Streets & Trips, incidentally... either that or Encarta Premium.
Ooh, you revealed a source!
So sue me.
In any case, having pay raises, special incentives, and general tastiness in computer stuff has been making me happy and giggly. It's like stealing to get cool things, but without the arrests, trials, jailtime, and prison unpleasantries. Not that I'd know about prison, exactly, but I was stuck on a ship for a year or so.
