An Adolescent Vampire
Chapter 7
He yanked it open and saw nothing, but a trail of blood leading outside and a car pulling away with Xavier in the drivers seat and Max, unconcious against the door.
I saw Jake enter a full out sprint after the car, I ran to the door and saw what was going on.
"Jake! Stop! You'll just get hurt! You can't catch them!" I cried, tears forming around my eyes. Jake stopped running and walked back towards me panting. His eyes showed anger. "Jake?" I whispered. He looked at me and I saw fear in his eyes. He wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly. His heart was racing, as was mine.
"Don't worry Haine. We'll get him back." Jake whispered into my ear.
"Why'd they take him in the first place?!" I snapped.
"He's a fugitive, like us."
"Then why didn't Xavier take us as well? Why just Max?!"
This made Jake silent.
"I don't know....... but I know a way to find out." Jake took my hand and led me to his car. After we stopped for a "lunch" break, Jake took me to a dark cave.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Erif Cave. Home of the most powerful witches around."
I was stunned.
"Witches are real?"
"Yeah, but their not all that books say they are. They're actually quite nice!"
Jake smirked, took my hand and led me in.
We went down this long tunnel and then into a wide open room.
"Who is it?" a voice called.
"This is Jacob of the Vampires. I seek advice from your leader."
"Who is that with you?"
"I am Haine of the Vampires. Daughter of King Bryce." I said.
Suddenly the room glowed and we were in a completely different room.
There was a man sitting at a black desk.
"Are you Jacob and Haine?" he asked.
"Yes. We seek advice." Jake whispered.
The man stood up and walked over to us.
"I am Victor of the Warlocks! Ask me what you will then leave me alone."
Victor had long silverish-black hair and these amazing rainbow eyes!
"We seek a question. Why did Xavier of the Vampires only capture
Maximillion of the Vampires and not us?" Jake asked.
Victor closed his eyes.
"The question you have asked has been answered to me." he said in an almost hypnotic voice. "Xavier of the Vampires was captured because of his father.
He is the prince of all Vampires."
Jake and I were equally surprised.
"But I'm the princess! King Bryce is my father! Does that make Max my brother?!"
I asked.
""No. Maximillion is not your brother and you are not princess.
Bryce is not king, he never was. Maximillion's father, Maxtone, murdered Bryce's father and Bryce wanted his revenge. When Maxtone became king, Bryce murdered him and took his place. Bryce didn't know at that time Maximillion was alive, so now Bryce wants Maximillion dead." Victor said.
"Max is supposed to be king?" I gasped.
