i was the note that began a new tune
i was the love you held in your heart
and i once was i piece of beautiful art.
but now im the angel thats fallen from grace
i am the cold teardrops that drip from your face
i am the dark shadow that falls when you walk
i am the small sigh you give when you talk
i am the sweet love that you notice no more
and i am the lovely you seem to ignore
i wanted to be the jewel you would hold
the one jewel you had when others grew old
i wanted to be what made only you smile
but you are the one that's still in denial
for all of a sudden life quickened the pace
and finding you my love became a sick race
