An Adolescent Vampire
[Don't read this unless you've read the intro, chp.1 and 2]
(Chapter 3)
"Help me!!" I thought, my heart pounding.
"She's with me you leeches!" Corona snapped. The feril vampires backed away in astonishment.
"Corona's escorting a mortal?" I heard a mumble. "Why would she even bring her here?"
Corona tugged me and I quikly followed her. We walked past about a thousand vampires, and it made me uncomfortable.
"Don't wander off and you'll be alright."
Corona said suddenly.
"Were you reading my mind?" I asked.
"Yes, I was. Now shut up and pick up the pace!" My mouth was dry as cotton as Corona came to a giant black door.
"Do you really want to see your father?" Corona asked.
"Of course! He's my father!" I said in bewilderment.
"He's not how you remember him though. Are you sure?" She asked again.
"Yes! As princess I order you to let me see my father!" I yelled.
Corona sighed, and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" an eerie voice called.
"This is Corona! I'm here to speak to King Alexander! I have a visitor as well!"
The door opened and a giant vampire with deep blue eyes and long grey hair was looking down at Corona.
"Why did you bring a mortal, Corona?" the vampire asked.
"Oh, Vincent! She's not just a mortal! She's the king's daughter." Corona whispered.
Vincent looked at me. "She's Haine."
Vincent nodded and let us past. I followed Corona down a pitch-black tunnel.
It reaked of rotting carcusus and blood. I noticed Vincent was behind us.
Suddenly, Corona stopped walking. I couldn't see her, so of course I ran into her and fell. "Watch it clutz!" Corona snapped.
"I think I hit my head on something... It was hard..." I mummbled.
"Yeah. It was my foot. Now stand up wimp!" Vincent snapped. Scowling, I stood up.
Corona opened another door and a purple light flew into the tunnel.
"Corona! Welcome back! What news have you brung me?" a voice asked and I recognized it right off. My father.
"I have news that we have found Jacob and Maximillion." Vincent said.
"Wonderful! How did you find them?" I heard my father ask.
"It's all thanks to your daughter, my lord." Corona said. There was a long silence.
"Haine? Is she here?!" He sneered.
"Well..... um.... yes...." Corona stumbled.
"Bring her in!" He yelled. Vincent grabbed my arm and pulled me in.
"Not so hard! That hurt!" I rubbed my arm and gasped. I saw a giant black throne with a massive dark figure sitting apon it. It was my father. "Father?"
I asked. The figure leaped down and walked towards me. I was so excited to see my father, I still remembered what he looked like when he left. But what I wanted to see, was far from what I did see. My sight of what my father looked like made me fall to my knees. He usually had short reddish-brown hair, calm blue eyes, and white teeth. Now, he had long reddish-black hair that fell over blood-red eyes.
His face was pale and everyone of his teeth were black and razor sharp.
"Haine." He said.
"Even his voice is different! It's deeper... it's scary." I thought.
"Father....." I mummbled.
"Why did you come?!" He snapped.
"What?! I wanted to see you!" I gasped.
"I'm not safe! Take her away from here!" My father screamed.
"I don't care that you're a vampire! I've accepted it! I've accepted you!"
Then, he sighed. "Haine....I am not a vampire any longer.... I'm a demon."
