Moonlight Utopia
I was exploring a brand new place. The building had brick walls, and the outside was a pitch black. It was a night-time school. But, there was another thing that was abnormal about this place. It was a high school only for vampires.
Vampire blood was in my family, and it got passed down to me. So, I got placed in here. Everyone describes vampires as cruel and blood-sucking beasts. And for the most part, they’re right. But, we aren’t that cruel. I mean, it’s not like we suck human’s blood out of our own will. It’s just what we do; kind of like an uncontrollable habit.
Now, I should introduce myself. I’m Amelia. My hair is raven black, and I have ocean-blue eyes. My hair is perfectly straight, and it cut off a couple inches past my shoulders. As for my teeth, they are pearly-white. No, I’m not covered in blood and I don’t have freaky eyes or claws or whatever you weird humans think vampires have. I’m just as normal as you, except I suck people’s blood. That’s it.
I wore a green tunic shirt and a necklace that complimented it, and just a regular pair of jeans. It all began on my first day of school in my Freshman year. I had never been to an all-vampire school before, and I was actually really anxious.
I was carrying my Social Studies supplies, since I had that first period. My teacher, Mrs. Nellen, had soft blond hair that cut off just about at her ears. She had a black T-shirt on, and just an ordinary pair of jeans, maybe hoping that she would fit in with the new arrivals. I noticed a pair of earrings dangling down from her ears. They shimmered in the florescent lights, and I could tell they were in Chinese. However, I couldn’t make out what they said.
Mrs. Nellen suddenly walked up to me as I entered the room that was decorated with posters with presidents on them, and I also noticed that there were pictures of the Holocaust and Hitler on some of the posters spread across the walls.
“You can sit here,” She said, and pointed to a seat in the front row. I noticed a guitar behind her desk; it was acoustic. I stared at it, and then ran over to my desk to place my stuff down before everything slipped out of my hands and started a catastrophe.
My desk was brand-new, and in mint condition. There were no scratches, and the chair didn’t squeak or wobble. The chair and desk were connected by a metal bar holding them together, and a cage was attached to the bottom of all of the seats. The seats were blue, and the desks a light shade of beige.
Mrs. Nellen most certainly didn’t seem like the type of person who would be a vampire. But I was almost positive that she was, considering she worked at a night-time school. Besides, humans would be too scared to work with us.
More and more students started to file in. The desks were slowly filling up as Mrs. Nellen carefully assign certain people to a desk to which she thought was best. I noticed that everyone else was glancing around the room, too, so I wasn’t the only one who was curious about this new world.
A girl with neatly groomed red hair said behind me, chatting with another preppy girl who seemed to fit well in the cheerleader category. I looked to my left, and I saw a very creepy boy who slouched in his chair. He wore only black, and silver lines decorated his shirt. His hair was black, his shoes; everything! I only stared at him, and his eyes rolled towards me, and his expression showed a scowl. I quickly turned my head to face the front, and I folded my hands in front of me. I could hear that the girls were gossiping about me behind my back, mainly discussing if I was a pathetic human or just a stupid vampire, and giggling about it. This was going to be a long day…
