Arena Screenshots As promised, some sneak peeks of the upcoming arena release, done by our amazing Brunosmad and Ling, and by the combined effort of a bunch of devs. We hope you like it! There will be three major arenas: art, Gaia, and writing. Here's a shot of the new landing page: Arenas now have subarenas -- so in the art arena, for example, we have drawing & painting, anime and manga, photography, and comics. You can put submissions in any or all of the subarenas. In the Gaia arena is all the competitions related your Gaia persona: Finally, in the writing arena you can enter in the fiction, non-fiction, or poetry and lyrics categories: We've tried to make stuff more easily browsable by (for example) using thumbnails where appropriate. Here's a view of submissions for a particular subarena: So where are we with this? A first build hit QA, and we're quickly fixing bugs -- we hope to have it out soon, for some value of soon (where soon = weeks).

	Thankyou for showing us the sneek peeks. It looks very organized, pleasing to the eyes, and is easy to navigate. -Love the new landing page. ^_^ -I like how we have the art arena divided up into certain groups, I'm a bit worried about the man power to get rid of ToS violation and copycats. -Love the fancy background for top winners, but it seems that the spotlight have been cutted down from top 10 to top 3 winners of that week. -The writing arena page looks good. I wonder how it's going to turn out after its release. ^_^ -The icon will be really helpful. The only problem is that people will down vote if they can see other people's ratings. But then, the playlist in VJ has it going like that, and if there are no contest prizes involve, I guess it'll be okay?

	First off, I'm super excited about the new types of arenas. Writing? Photography? =o And it'll all looks very organized well put together. I don't think I'll be spending any time wondering how to navigate, I think I'll be able to just jump straight in. Which is a very, very good thing. I'm looking forward to this. ^_^

	Holy...a photography arena! I better not go broke entering that thing. All the more reason for me to break out my camera and get some awesome nature shots during my Florida trip this year. You make me a very happy camper with that subcategory. I'm looking forward to this overhaul.

	Looks like tons of pontencial time wasting! XD I can't wait to get on the photography one. Will there be weekly gold prizes in all of them? Or just the avatar one? I'm hoping past winners will be easier to navigate. It's a nightmare right now. And, just one little usability thing I noticed. On the homepage, some call to action links are left aligned when everywhere else on gaia all call to action links on homepages are right aligned. =)

	I love how the new arena look goes so well with the current layout! Also, I can appreciate how to totally used some photoedits (among other things!) from the GCD. I still think that the Gambino one is FTW! ;D

	Ahh, that all looks like a lot of fun! I can't wait to get a crack at'em. I was honestly a bit skeptical about the whole concept of a writing arena, but seeing the screenshots now, I think this could really work! You guys rock so hard.

	A photography arena... that's awesome. eek As Ma-Ajmala suggested, we should have medals brought back to the arenas! My biggest concern at the moment is Plagiarism and what are you guys going to do to prevent such things?

	Those are some awesome screenshots! I can't wait til they're a reality! :3 Please tell me that you're adding categories into the Avatar Arena to make competing more fair for everyone. I've been petitioning for this feature for a while now. Here is my petition. I really hope that this will be a feature of the newly revised Avatar Avatar. <3

	In the writing arena, how would you deal with plagiarism? It seems as if it may become a HUGE problem in that arena.

	I'm super psyched at the fact that the Arenas are getting a major facelift and a new addition to the family (the writing arena). My only concern is that I would hate to see so much time and effort be ruined by art/writing thieves and plagerists. The Art Arena is already so full of copyrighted and stolen pics right now that Mods are having serious trouble keeping up with them all. For ever one reported there are two more to take it's place. I just hope that when the updates are finally made something will be done to filter through illegal submissions (i.e. Arena-only Mods).
