the cormorant perches in a leafless tree, within a tangled mass of branches, his dull, ragged wings spread wide at his sides overlooking the small pond that he had been trying to feed from. the pond was highly polluted with toxic substances that sucked away all life from the creatures that try to inhabit it. the cormorant had been drawn to this small foul source of water because there was hardly any to be found anywhere. the earth had become barren. the cormorant spread his wings further out in an atempt to free them of the contaminated water, but the sun was hidden behind clouds of smoke and gasses that swirled in a huge mass above the land. he stretced out his thin neck hoping to find any source of heat for his emaciated body, but found none. his wings and head slowly drooped down to his sides as his last few feathers floated down to the murky waters. the earth was dead and with it the cormorant took a shuddering breath and plunged into the sea of lifelessness. the year was 2087 and the last living relic perished.
i am not emo,but i care for the animals of this world and this is a prediction of what life will be like if we do not take care of the earth. the cormorant represents the human race struggling to survive in the future where everything is fouled by our pollution. we can prevent this by recycling and reusing our resources. please consider this the next time you want to litter or befoul the earth in any way. you can make a difference.
