Part 6: The Story of Itachi's Lover
Itachi stood at the door, his gaze forever on his brother, than on the little boy, his son, Sasuke-chan. He let out a gasp and realized that what was going on quickly. "Get him out of here?" he finally whispered.
Otouto-chan glared at him as he picked up his son and walked from the room. "How could you bring Sasuke-chan into this place?"
"There is no such thing as..." otout-chan growled and grabbed at his nephew. "You can't have him!"
"What makes you think I'm trying to take him?" Itachi finally let his brother hold the little boy. "You are going to return to that hell house?"
"There is not such thing as ghosts, it is just an imaginery friend!"

Sasuke walked into a hotel, he could not return to the house now, Itachi wouldn't allow it. They stared at each other, though it was evident they could do nothing to each other with a small child lying only a few feet away. "What the hell?" Sasuke growled at his brother who just brought a cup of tea to his lips and looked down at his son. "Why are you here?"
"Because someone sent for me," Itachi finally decided to speak up, he leaned a little forward and then whispered. "How can you live in that place?" His voice was dark and rather upset.
"Its our home, its the Uchiha house, you know that!"
"Yeah, you bring a child that is fully awakened as a psychic into that house? If you keep doing that you will end up killing him!" Itachi's concerned was placed on his child, his own offspring. "I can't allow you to do that."
"Why do you care, you would have killed him if you had the chance!"
There was a look of almost horror on Itachi's face, his eyes widening. "She said the same thing too."
"Who?"
"Hitori-sama," Itachi pulled his eyes away from his brother and looked almost sad. "She was the only person I could talk to and had no judgement for me. She was always so dark though."
"Who was she?"
"My wife if you must know."
It was common knowledge among the spies that worked with Jeriya that kept track of the activiities of Akatsuki that it did keep track of their families too. Though it was news to Sasuke that his brother would even take a wife.

Itachi's memory of Hitori was that she was prisoner, a young woman trapped in a country estate with nothing but a daimyo (warlord) as company. She was kept inside a single room and a corner of that house that was really just a palace. It was not surprise that Itachi would notice her at all when he was scoping the place out for Akatsuki when he was just a recruit.
He had found her in her prison, she sat staring out the windows at him, her eyes seeming to be a thousand years old. She was silent and sad when she looked at him with sad almost distant cobalt blue eyes. She was almost distant from everyone in the palace, she said nothing while she watched him from the garden.
Finally he did approach her, he pretended to be one of the guards, it was easy enough to slip into the armor and look like something that dark. "You are not a guard," she whispered as if unsurprised that he was there.
"Then you know why we're here," he was looking over his shoulder at the puppet master, Sasori who slipping through the walls, while Orochimaru was only watching.
"I do, and you should kill him," she walked away and pointed toward where the daimyo who was eating in room.
Itachi had to do something, she was something of a silent gaze, though he had never really seen her outside her little prison. She was thin, her face was thin, she had no color in her face, her hair was dark brown put up in a fancy ponytail, and she wore a fancy kimono with silks and bright colors. She looked like a princess, but something told Akatsuki otherwise.
"What is she?" Sasori finally asked Itachi who returned to the hide out.
"She's that ruler's psychic, I thought they were wiped out..." Itachi sat down on a bench and was thinking. He was still a recruit, he still felt like something was wrong with that girl.
He returned to the palace and found her sitting outside under a tree, she was looking as if she was waiting for him. "I knew you would come back," she whispered to him.
"You're going to die if you don't leave," Itachi whispered to her.
"I cannot, I have no place to go," she walked away. "Death would be a better gift than this life."
"I don't want to hear it," he pulled her toward the exit, they were walking out of the garden, that was when the attack started, Sasori's puppets were in the front, while Itachi worked his way backward. He found his way back to his hidden home inside the caves that Akatsuki used as a base camp.
The girl sat down slowly, Itachi could not believe that the girl was sixteen, her eyes were almost dead now that he saw her more closely. It was as if she was dead more than just in her eyes, but her soul was almost gone. "Let me die," she whispered ot him.
"I won't," he whispered to her as he brought his hand up. "What's your name?"
"I don't have a name, they simply call me Psyche," her voice was sorrowful and strange to him. "Why?"
"That name doens't suit you, I will call you Hitori from now on."
She had been thirteen, he had been thirteen, three years it was all that it made a difference, when Itachi had left her alone, she made no sign to care. When questioned by Sasori about certain things, she just seemed dead to him. He would bring puppets trying to bring a smile to her face.
As the years played their role on Itachi who sought her protection, when she became pregnant, she was distant from him more. She would have visions, but they would end with her becoming sick and more tired. She was lie in her bed, her body moved over Itachi's hands as he touched her stomach feeling for the small life inside her. "How long will it be?" he finally gazed at her.
"Week late, the boy will be a week late," Hitori seemed to whisper to him.
****
Sasuke listened to Itachi's story about his wife, he was so bitter at times, but he was also quiet about this fact. He loves her, really loves her, he thought and looked up slowly as Itachi's story finished.
"She is alive, but I can't bear to look at her after she nearly killed our son. Sasuke-chan deserves better than what I can give him. When you fought me, I knew that you would take him from me," Itachi's voice was soft and rather upset with this. "Hitori-sama is too dangerous to be left alone, so I decided to hand my son to you and I would deal with her."
"Why didn't you kill her?"
"You are asking what stopped me?" Itachi asked quite surprised. "I couldn't do it, I don't know what stopped me, but when I looked at her, I felt like I saw something of myself there in her eyes."
