Part 3: New Uchiha Wakes
"What's his name?" Naruto asked when he saw Sasuke sitting inside the nursery holding the little boy who was staring up with large cobalt blue eyes.
"Don't know, didn't ask, he was too sick," Sasuke looked more concerned with the boy's health than anything else. "He's Aniki's little boy."
Naruto nearly jumped at the sound, he looked almost stunned that Sasuke would be so much as interested if the boy lived or died, much less survived childhood. "But....you hate..."
"I hate Itachi-ni, but I don't hate his son," the voice was different and kinder. "There is a difference, this little kid didn't kill my clan, he's the future of the clan, and as the head of the Uchiha house, it is my duty to raise him as such."
"Do me a huge favor," the blond sat down in a chair and finally gave a heaving sigh. "Don't let him turn into you, you're depression could kill him."
I suppose he's got a point, Sasuke realized and looked at the child who yawned and went off to sleep, his head resting on his chest. "Well, you got a point, but what am I supposed to do. I'm sixteen and I'm going to have to be...a father."
I won't be like To-san, Sasuke decided as he walked from the room after putting the child in his crib again gazing in as the lights dimmed. I won't force him into anything, I won't let him turn into Itachi-ni either. I will have him be who he is! It was not common for Sasuke to think like this, he was almost scared that he might hurt the child, simply because he was terrified of his own anger.
When he came home to the dusty student housing development, it was clear that there was going to be huge changes and he was not going to be living in the dorm with his nephew. He walked out of the room and into the hall, he leaned on the wall and thought. Where do I go? How will we live? What if he gets sick? He was unprepared for this decision of his, he walked to the street and then right to the gates of the Uchiha compound. Do I dare bring him here? Do I raise him in this place? Who knows what will happen to him here!
Walking through the gate, Sasuke stopped in front of the house that had once been the home of Uchiha Obito and his mother and father. This had once been the main branch family's house, now it was not, it had been empty even when Sasuke had been a child. He remembered running up and down the length of the new main branch house and stopping to gaze at the old house before him.
Now that he looked it, it wasn't so scary looking as it had been in childhood. He walked into the house and found it pretty much almost brand new in some cases. There were places that needed some minor repair and the doors were a little sticky from hot summers.
Sasuke began to air it out, he walked from room to room opening up a window, nothing seemed wrong with the house. He entered each bedroom and opened the windows to allow the sun to enter. That was when he found that he could easily live here without much worry about going into the other house where the murders took place. "This is prefect!"

The next evening Sasuke sat reading next to the child. "You know, when you're well enough, I'm going to take you to our new home. Its prefect for us, there are large play areas for you." He stroked the small hand through the bars and his eyes closed. "I just wish you would get better." He stroked the child's hair and smiled whispering. "I wish I knew your name."
"Sasuke," the voice was small, as if calling to him, he looked around in response to his name, but then saw the little boy sitting up. "Sasuke!"
"What?"
"That's my name," the boy smiled at him.
"That's my name," Sasuke finally whispered.
"Chichi named me after Uncle Sasuke," the little boy's eyes were big and bright, he looked up as someone came in, it was nurse.
"He can speak!" Sasuke finally jumped up.
The nurse seemed unimpressed. "Of course he does, he doesn't stop," she sighed touching the child's forehead. "Just a slight fever."
