Well duh. Burton made a whole chocolate room, parts of the tunnel, the whole inventing room, the whole squirrel room, the whole TV room, Charlie's shack, etc. They even built a town.
Willy Wonka in the first movie was just a weird guy for no real reason, we now get to see Willy in his childhood and why he's a disturbed shut-in. Grandpa Joe even worked for him at one point, before being fired with all the others.
Anyways, I liked the first film, just because it's entertaining. I never watch the first half anymore because there's nothing really funny in it, or interesting. There are a few sadsack songs, like the ****** "Candyman" and the squawking mom in "Cheeeer up Charlie", and the "I've Got A Golden Ticket (and Now A Broken Hip)". Nothing funny or interesting happens besides "Nobody ever goes in, nobody ever goes out, cackle cackle". It's rather sad. Of course, the second half is pretty good, minus the annoying "I WANT IT NOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwww..." song and the fizzy lifting drinks. And the ending was just sad. The point of the story is not "get everything you ever wanted so you can live happily ever after". That's just sad. I prefer the new moral: "family is key" [or something very close to that].
