My Scars
In the mirror i can see the scars
I move my arms to put my hair up, there they are
You cant miss that fresh new heart on my arm
To bad it's whole, and not broken like the one
Inside of me
When i sit and look at the floor, those
Faded words that spell out "Pretty girl"
And "Dream" across my legs
The word "Imperfection" goes across my arm
I run the tips of my fingers over my arms and legs
They run smooth, until they hit the
Fresh scars that are there
The dry blood is rough against my fingers
But it will go away and soon blend in as well
The next person that holds me, will look at me
and ask what is that?
My answer will be "..my pain"
It will be his turn to run his fingers over my skin
But he will do it out of love
He will forget about the scars and what i was
Cause when i'm with him, he wont see
Them, but instead he'll see
me as the person i am, and the person
who is really me
