Part 3: Long Goodbyes
I think I was beginning to get used to them, Tsuzuki and Hisoka, now I had to leave them. I guess that means the end of adventures. That was what went on in my mind for a couple of hours. I sat in the apartment staring at my things and then at Koda who was sitting next to me. "We're leaving, aren't we?"
Koda gave them a sad look and then looked as if he was going to do something horrible. "Koda, are you coming with me?" I blinked, something in my head started to swell and I realized that I would never see Koda again, something was going to happen when I left and this meant Koda and I were going to be parted.
"What about the promise to never leave me?" This had been childish really, I knew this from the start. I knew I had to say goodbye to him someday, but did it have to be now?

I stared out the window at the rain clouds coming into the real world, I had left the Ministry of Hades close to a month ago. I settled into my seemingly uninteresting life back in America. I sighed and looked down at my books and even some pictures that I saw Koda, Hisoka, and Tsuzuki standing smiling at me. Why did it feel like I was going to die?
I sighed and looked out the window again, this life was so different and uninteresting, I suppose that is what I get for being a human. I looked over at the television and turned it on, that was when my heart almost turned cold. "Dr. Muraki who has begun his practice at the New York General Hospital is part of the search a missing teenager," said a new reporter who was talking to Muraki.
What is he doing here? I thought and turned the television off, he's here, he's here to get me, what if he finds me. I walked into the kitchen and sighed thinking that it would be impossible, New York City was huge and there would be too many people to even think about finding me.
Thinking again about what I was to do if he did find me, I suppose I could contact the Ministry of Hades and tell them. I sighed and looked down at the calling card and then at the phone, but to use it was going to cost me.
The next morning I was dressed for work, I worked as a Japanese Language teacher at a high school now. I put the phone card in my pocket with my passcard for work and went to get to work.

The large stone building that was the Freemont School was close to the end of Shrower Drive, and it was a prep school. I walked into the classroom and started me usual row call and near stopped at a name, Kurasaki. Looking from the paper to the boy seated in front of me in a blue uniform was Hisoka who was sitting there while other kids seemed quite at ease with a new student. I went on and then saw the look he was giving me, next to his feet was Koda sitting there staring up at me.
I stared at them and then went on with my lesson. "Now, I hope you remember that you have a project due in two weeks. I hate to give bad grades if you don't do this project. Hisoka if you need extra time since you are a new transfer, please talk to me after class." I pretended this was business as usual, that was until lunch I found out what happened.
"He found out you were here, Cally, I'm sorry, we have to take you back to Tokyo. I know this is short notice, but you can't stay human anymore." Hisoka and I were sitting at Toyko Joe's eating curry.
"I see, I understand the concern and I'm ready for whatever it takes to get this guy away from me," I sputtered, by now I had enough of being chased by a guy who was likely to go after Tsuzuki.
I sighed and saw the very person I dreaded standing in front of me. "Eating this is not healthy, Callisto, you must be careful," he smiled at him in what appeared to be his form of gentleness. I wanted to stand and run, but something was keeping Hisoka and I there in our seats. "I see you Shinagami are still protecting this precious little flower, how sad."
"Not as sad as you chasing her around like she belongs to you!"
I got up and pulled Hisoka after me and into the street. "Don't encourage him like that, Hisoka, he will cause more harm. We just have to avoid him, that's all."
"We tried that, it doesn't work. He still wants you for his own gain, Cally, we have to at least figure out what he wants you for."
