In the darkness
In the cold
In an alley
Is one runaway soul
The cold bites at this soul
Craving another life
In the cold, dark world

Frozen tears burst from her eyes
Rosy cheeks is the only thing
That isn’t pale on her face
And long, curly, black hair covers her pretty face
One runaway soul
No longer cares for her
Broken heart and crushed feelings
For she is now to numb to feel any pain
She no longer
Wishes for love
For she now knows
How it truly feels to be heart broken
She listens for a voice
She listens for a sound
She looks for a face
But she can only find her runaway soul
She feels alone
She feels insignificant
She wanted someone
To care about her for once
One by one
Two by two
And finally three by three
The rain falls onto her slick shiny black hair
At some points
She didn’t even remember
Who she really was
But now she remembers
That one runaway soul
That one heart broken girl
Was once and truly
