It has been a very long week – or has it been two? I seem to have lost all sense of time. War! I had not quite believed it would come to that. And now we have peace… and I am a vampire. One of my greatest dreams, to be sure, and yet it seems that now that it has come to pass I am woefully unprepared for this new way. Perhaps within this journal I shall compile my notes and experiences of the other side of death.
Beginning with the war.
I did my part, tending to my fellows’ wounds and even venturing out of the safety of the mansion, to slip into skirmishes and all-out battles, to give and receive wounds. Vladimir Von Helson took note of my diligence and favored me with this little bat. I think I shall call him Lysander.
It is a pity that Von Helson is dead. If the years had not hardened his heart so…
But I do not think he would have allowed this peace.
