Transparent blues descend one and all,
Harmonic beats patter the sodden earth.
Each drop of life slowly falls
As time itself stands still.
Peace lasts all but a second.
Loneliness taps at my windows,
Misery knocks on my door.
I hide from the constant notions,
That everything must come to an end,
And once again, I am alone…
The rain is my only friend,
I wait for its arrival
And dread its soft retreat.
The steady pattern welcomes me,
The water of reason and serenity,
Beats down upon my teary face,
Rocking me to sleep with its soothing trance.
But all too soon, I am alone…
