In my introduction, I mentioned that I was once the ruler of a distant galaxy.
How I, one who is not disposed to leading anything, except perhaps myself away from the trouble I have gotten into, became so is another tale in itself which I may relate later...

so, where was I? Oh ya! Well, here is the deal:

My galaxy was at war against a nearby one. The conflict began a long time ago when it was noted by scientists that the two galaxies were on a collision course and in 500 million years would tear each other up something awful. sad
It started out rather innocent at first... us hailing them, saying, "Hey can you guys move over a bit, we are gonna crash." And then the reply: "No, you move, we were here first!"
I am sure you can imagine that tempers flared and it got really ugly... as a matter of fact, my favorite pleasure planet was destroyed during the first strike by the other galaxy (name withheld for security reasons). When I heard this, I was hopping mad and war ensued! What a bunch of stubborn, unruly aliens they were! I wanted to blow em off of the map of the Universe, but my advisors persuaded me to let cooler heads prevail.

I called together a meeting of the High Council of Sentient Beings & Other Weirdos to address the problem. Our top scientists from all over the galaxy were there. They came up with an idea using a theoretical and totally untested process called: Atomic Compression.

I was all yeah, whatever, but what the hell does it do? (I was tired of listening to these eggheads jabber on and it was almost time for my daily massage and the masseuse was pretty cute, so I was a bit ornery.) The scientists informed me that it would temporarily allow our entire galaxy to become compressed... basically miniaturized, as a lot of the wasted space in it's atoms would just be squeezed down. Our galaxy would miss the other as they got close and we shrunk down briefly. I said: "Hey now! Good thinking, get right on that!" and left for my massage.

A few thousand millenia pass and we are ready for the first test run. I was really excited and called for a galactic holiday on the day of the test. "Get Small Day", we called it.
Oh man, you never saw such a party! And as Midnight Galactic Standard Time came, the scientists were ready to flip the switch and called me to the podium to give the countdown to all of the galaxy: " And now citizens, Our Glorious Leader and gracious host of this party, will prepare to throw the switch so that we may all get small!" *hoorays*

It was really exciting! The hope of the galaxy! 10-9-8... everyone was shouting and cheering and waiting for this crazy shrinking thing to happen. Just before the switch was going to be flipped at the precise moment -this had to be timed right. You don't just go around shrinking galaxies at will - I stumbled because I had had a few too many at this party and I accidentally hit the switch as I fell right into all of this quantum machinery and astrophysical gizmos!!

There was this huge whine, then a whooshing sound as a blinding flash enveloped me....

Whenever it was that I regained consciousness, I found myself surrounded by these tiny twinkling stars. It was my whole galaxy miniaturized and somehow gravitating upon my mass! "Oh man", I thought... "I sure did it this time!" The inverse reaction by falling into the scientists' machine caused me to be jettisoned outside of my galaxy, carrying its miniaturized form to some unknown planet in this one; your galaxy.

So here I am! And I thank my lucky stars, all of the billions of them that float around me, that those guys on the planets around some of them can't get their hands on me!!!
