The Door
I smell your breath,
Hanging onto my olfactory senses,
Savoring for one last time,
Than I see you walk away again.
Through tear filled eyes,
Eyes only now properly seeing you,
I have to be tortured by your emptiness.
I let you walk away,
We had but once chance,
A minor glance into memory,
A minor glance into time,
Shows that we had,
But like fools,
We did nothing.
And so with silent weeping,
And unfathomable sorrow,
I watch you walk away,
And savor your last breath,
Reaching out to me.
I try to hold onto your intangible,
Soul I call it,
But it too is leaving,
Slowly,
Deftly,
And horribly.
Why I opened my mouth,
And let forth venomous words,
Lashing at your paper skin,
I want that venom back,
I want the cancerous hatred.
GIVE IT BACK TO ME!
I smell your breath,
Hanging onto my olfactory senses,
Savoring for one last time,
Than I see you walk away again.
Through tear filled eyes,
Eyes only now properly seeing you,
I have to be tortured by your emptiness.
I let you walk away,
We had but once chance,
A minor glance into memory,
A minor glance into time,
Shows that we had,
But like fools,

And so with silent weeping,
And unfathomable sorrow,
I watch you walk away,
And savor your last breath,
Reaching out to me.
I try to hold onto your intangible,

But it too is leaving,
Slowly,
Deftly,

GIVE IT BACK TO ME!
