Fighting back tears as she ran, Syri pushed back branches looking for her small clearing. When she got there she slumped down against a tree and cried. Her tail twitched from side to side showing her anxiety.
Ever since she was small she was never cared for. Always with herself, stealing, only making a few friends. Now they are all gone, the entire village was burning to the ground. She was the only person who escaped the blaze. A rather large raid of eighty people or so had come to vent their rage by pillaging. Even the ninja academy (Syri’s favorite place) gone.
Syri’s sobs came to an abrupt sniffling stop. Someone other than her had entered the clearing…
A girl about her own age with long blonde hair came to a stop near the edge of the clearing. The girl was plain nothing, super special, but her blonde hair had a streak running down the front, the color of a blue berry when you squeeze out the juice. One thing Syri noticed is that the girl was quite muscular she had long legs that looked like this girl had been running for years. The girls arms looked like she could lift a large bolder. The expression on this girls face was not surprise as anyone else’s would have been seeing a girl with large cat ears and a tail. No the look on the girls face was more like she was sent to Syri, that she knew she was home after a long time.
The girl said nothing as she moved forward to the center of the small clearing. She just sat crossed legged and took a small bundle of wood out and started a fire. As the fire grew so did Syri’s questions. The girl introduced herself first.
