Name: Taku
Aliases: The Tank
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Artificial Giant)
Appearance: Standing at 7’4 ½”, Taku is a giant of a man, his entire body covered in massive amounts of corded muscle, although he does have a thin layer of fat covering the entirety of his body. His skin is dark, and he has features similar to those of East Indians. He has black hair, which he has styled into a spiked Mohawk, and dark brown eyes. He has a septim piercing, a large gold ring. His right bicep and the right side of his torso are covered in disfiguring scars, a remnant from grenade shrapnel, and there are thin scars across all the points of his body where a needle could easily reach a vein. As well, he has clean, pearly-white teeth.
He wears a pair of camo-pattern denim cargo pants, and a plain white muscle shirt. On his feet are a pair of big, black, steel-toed leather boots. Strapped to his back is an oddity to be sure, the turret of a tank, looking as if it had been ripped free.
Family: Unknown
History: Taku grew up in Gaia, as any child native to that crazy place would, and he had a non-descript childhood. However, he was never a kid for books, and instead of school he did odd jobs and manual labor for anyone who had the money to offer. Shortly after he turned 25, Gambino offered him considerable amounts of money to be a test subject in “harmless” experiments performed by G-Corp.
He was a test subject for the strain of the G-Virus that would later prove successful in uniting Gino and Gambino, and the effects were easily noticeable. His entire body grew, becoming more and more muscular until he had a height and physique to rival that of Johnny K. Gambino himself. It was a lifesaver, as not even two weeks later the G-Virus escaped the labs. At the start of the outbreak, he was being studied for any harmful side-effects from the earlier injections. Offering his “heartfelt resignation” to the LabTech scientists, he then tried to get the hell out of Dodge, which was made difficult due to the fact that the virus was spreading faster than herpes at a slut convention.
Using his newly found physical power, he punch, kicked, threw and brutalized everyone, zombie or Gaian, in his way as he was fleeing, occasionally using tables and other objects to bludgeon things. Leaving the mansion, he decided to explore the world with his new muscles and accumulated wealth.
Shortly after entering a foreign country, he was captured for his size and asked to join their military because a war was going on between the nation and a neighboring country. The battle was over land that was supposedly holy to both sides, but the reasons for this had long since been forgotten, although the hostilities had not. Taku declined, however, they wouldn’t take no for an answer, so they imprisoned him and tortured him, attempting to turn him into a weapon to be unleashed on the battlefield. After about a month of torturing, they had brought in their scientists and doctors, and he underwent extensive drug injections, driving him utterly mad and freeing him of any typical human limitations. In addition, experimental steroids ended up increasing Taku’s already massive frame’s size, making him larger and more muscular than he was. With this done, Taku and the other “living weapons” who had been subjected to this treatment were set loose into the warzone. After surviving a number of these battles, the continuous victories proved the experiments a success, and the living weapons were sent off to the most critical strategic point in the entire conflict, in hopes of dealing the decisive blow and ending the war. The campaign was going great, and in the heat of battle Taku, still gripped in a drugged rage, tested many of his limits. Near the end of the battle, the enemy unleashed their strongest artillery and heavy armor. Surprising everyone on either side of the field, the battle-crazed Taku tore the turret off of one of these tanks, and then went on to lift the tank itself with his other hand. However, the enemy had devised tactics to repel Taku and the other weapons, and used whaling harpoon cannons against Taku, firing off three into the berserker. One harpoon struck him three inches above his heart and two to the left, the second piercing straight through his right kneecap and the third into his right hip. With the damage done to his right leg, he, and the tank he was supporting both ended up falling, pinning the giant underneath the tank and acting as a shield. At this point, certain that they were defeated, the enemy enacted a last-ditch attack, launching a salvo of missiles meant to blacken the entire battlefield and wipe away everything on it. Taku, amazingly, was saved by the tank pinning him, even though most of the tank was blown to slag. Only a thin sheet of metal and the treads remained on top of him after the blast.
The entire battlefield had been torn apart by the assault, survivors few and far between and both armies utterly decimated, heavy armor included. Taku awoke a couple hours later, shoving the wreckage of the tank aside and off of him. The drug treatment had faded by this point, but the treatments had wiped away most of his memory. He had fragments of recollection about Gaia and that he lived there, but his only vivid memories were of the torture and druggings and past battles. With this and his first name, he attempted to set back to Gaia, but faced new hardships. His assets were unknown to him, and even if he did know of his wealth he would not be able to access it, leaving him essentially destitute. With his right leg set in a patchwork splint, he used the turret he’d torn off the tank as a staff, despite its resembling an overgrown mace.
After leaving the war torn country and entering a more peaceful nation, he had his leg taken care of, however he lacked the funds to pay for the treatment, and instead ended up working for a couple of years. He spent the free time he had over these years reading and learning the things he’d neglected to do in the past he couldn’t remember. Clearing his debt, he set out with his war trophy, the turret ending up being used as a mace, and returned to his homeland of Gaia.
Equipment:
Tank Turret: His namesake, his trophy, and his massive club. Not much to say, this is the top section of a tank that has been torn clean off. The sides of it have been dented slightly, probably from the more resilient unfortunates he’s hit with it.
Various Ammunition: For some reason, the giant’s cargo pants are filled with a random assortment of shells for a wide range of guns.
Salvaged Tank Shells: Stowed away in the lolpockets of the cargo pants are a number of other war trophies. Namely, actual ammunition for tanks.
Abilities:
Smash Things: No explanation needed.
Lift Things: No need to explain.
