Happiness is not a fish that you can catch - OLP "happiness and the fish"
LEt's talk about happiness, how do you define it, how can you define it? Who are you to decide what happiness is, can you say honestly, with others andto yourself, you cannot feel better than you do at that moment. You make me so happy, is such a bullshit line. It's not that person that makes you happy, it's yourself, you can only feel something if you allow someone to make you feel that way. Only you control how you feel, but no one human has that level of control, no matter where you go in life, or how far you think youve progressed you'll still only be mortal. Happiness like all other emotions, or states of mind set on uneasy fleeting terms clouds the mind. Love even in the platonic sense, does not bring you happiness, it brings you comfort with allowing yourself to be happy. You can find the most amazing person in the world, but deep inside you realize that the delicate dance of a relationship, that makes you "feel" so happy is a bit off kilter, and eventually one of the partners will trip. The recovery of that kilter, then all depends on the two finding a meeting place, not a compromise, a true understanding of the other's needs and feelings. Even if it is found, things will not be the same. Things will change, happiness will come and go, or at least what youthink is happiness. Dont fight it, give in to your illusions, because someday, you may cut through all the fog and find a true moment before it slips from your fingers. Enjoy it before it runs away, enjoy your big fish before it slips through your fingers and off into the never ending river of life.
