the 2% tax
people are getting out of hand with this so I am linking this in my sig and trying to help people understand why it is very necessary.
On gaia you get gold for almost everything, posting, playing games, voting on stuff hell even wandering around and where does this money go? to buy items of course. and this worked just fine for a long time but then they introduced the monthly collectibles. well so few people were buying them that it was still ok for a while.
But now we have reached a point where probably around 90% or more of what people are buying is monthly collectibles. why is this a problem? because when you buy an item from a store the gold disapears but you get your money back when someone else buys it meaning there is always that much less gold in the site.
however when you buy an mc you spend rl money to get the item so no gold leavs the site. since most of what people are buying these days is mcs there is very very little gold disappearing while plenty more keeps being made whenever you do anything so everyone gets richer making the items worth less since it is now easy to make thousands a day.
adding the gold sink of the 2% tax means that even when you are buying or selling mcs a little gold still goes away burning_eyes so there is less gold on the site and prices have to drop since no one will be able to make as much as they do now and all will be good once more.
any questions or concerns? feel free to leave a comment here (messages and profile comments are friends only) thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully this will change your way of thinking about the tax!
