Alright, so I told you about my gaming preference. Now I'll tell you about my anime preference since a lot of games I play are Japanese.
Actually, that is how I got into anime. I loved Final Fantasy 10 and would notice the cute little drawings on other websites so I started drawing in that style. Plus I used to watch Digimon at that and before that time. That was probably my starter anime. But I didn't watch toonami until a few years ago (back when toonami was good and had all saturday night). My favorites then were Ruroni Kenshin and .hack//sign. Then I saw that G4 had anime (also a few years ago and not happening anymore, hence me not watching it). There were some pretty good shows, Last Exile, Serial Experiments Lain, Gungrave, Read or Die TV, just a good mix. But these ones were higher end so that's how my taste sort of refined.
Now children have all sorts of choices for which anime they want to watch. They have Cartoon Network (of course) and it's splender of Adult Swim. THis includes new episodes of Bleach (good show for now but starting to get filler), Blood Plus (um, ok show) and reruns of a whole bunch of others (both good and bad). You also have toonami which has Naruto (I'm not a big fan but some of my guy friends are), DBZ, Pokemon (ok, now I must say this: BRING BACK SOME RERUNS!!! TENCHI MUYO, .HACK//SIGNS, RURONI KENSHIN, YuYUHAKUSHO, SOMETHING GOOD MAYBE AT 7!!!).
You used to have G4-techtv, but techtv was brutally murdered so no good anime for you too. However, like a phonex, other networks rise up from the flames. IFC is not currently playing any new anime but they may, and you know what, it's some quality stuff (Samurai 7, Gunslinger Girl and Basalisk). Sci-Fi has AniMondays now, which include oodles of movies plus Noein and Tokko, which are amusing to watch. The most surprising network to get anime is Fuse, a network much like Mtv. THeir anime is not the best but people should watch it so they will be encouraged to show more, possibly the next hit (right now, Ergo Proxy and Tenjo Tenge). Lastly, some people may have anime on demand, I have the Funimation channel as one of my channels. A very nice selection of decent shows, both old and new (weeknights:Kodocha, Fruits Basket, Case Closed, Spiral, Dragon Ball, Yuyuhakusho, Slayers, Negima. On Weekends: a Lupin the Third movie, Baki the Grappler, Kiddy Grade, Blue Gender, Tenchi Muyo GXP). I also watch Negima and NANA on youtube. Almost forgot, If you have encore channels (wam, action), they show anime (both series and movies). I can't say which ones because wam varries from about 6 series and action from a few more plus movies though action is every weekday night at midnight and wam is everyday at 4.
Now with all that information, you can browse and find something that you like. But what does Domino like? Vandread used to be my favorite, though I haven't watched it in a while despite it's uber-awesomeness. Good story, good fighting, funny, good action, all in all, a good anime if you don't mind scantly clad women. Fruits Basket is better as a manga but the anime is very nice too. My current favorite is Serial Experiments Lain, mostly because there is nothing else like it. Everyone has a different interpritation of what exactly it's about. I'll have to watch the rest on youtube though because I only saw about half of it. Samurai 7 is very good to watch. Last Exile is very good to watch. Overall, if it's not too long (more than 52 episodes) and it has some action or drama which I care about, plus if the animation is nice for its time, then it's in.
Well that's enough of my riveting anime information. I'll have reviews of certain shows later on. Now to collect my 50 gold. Toodles.
