So, I just got back from Cape Cod, Mass. today. I had a good time. It was me, my buddy Kay, her grandmother, her step-grandfather Jeff, and for part of the time, her aunt Tracy and little cousin Ryan. Then when those two left, Kay's mother and sister Aly joined us too. So, we stayed there since Sunday and I made some journal entires.
7/8/07
Got up early. Went to Kay's house, where we loaded up her mom's car and went to her aunt Tracy's house.
We eventually got there and drove for 2.5 hours to Wellfleet, in Cape Cod in massachussettes. When we got to the cabin in Starfish, nobody was home. Kay broke in through the window instead and we all unpacked. Then when Kay's grandmother and step grandfather got here, we had lunch and then went to a beach. The waves were so huge! We had a lot of fun. Then after a few hours, we went back to the cabin and it started to rain. When it finally stopped, we went by the harbor and picked up lots of shells. Kay and I each found an oyster and wondered if there was a pearl in at least one of them. We then raced back to the car, for it was starting to rain again. Then we got back to the cabin and just hung out for the rest of the evening.

The first place we went was to a bridge over a marsh. It was high tide. We went for a walk along the trails and saw a lot of crabs and wildlife. Then Kay and I got to go shopping along the streets! We each got a sarong from this nice store (mine is blue, hers is green) and we split the cost of a coconut purse for Megan. I also bought an eye patch for Dave and we're going to do more stuff tomorrow. It rained again, but when it stopped, we went to another part of the harbor and sort of went swimming. We did more shell collecting though. The water was too shallow to swim in. We tried to make a sand castle, but the tide suddenly started to come in, so we just built a rock circle. Later on, me, Kay, and her grandparents went to another beach for a bonfire with their family friends. Eventually, when it got dark, Kay had to go to the bathroom and so we went to the local bathroom place. I never want to go there again. Not only were there soooooo many mosquitos and I got bitten, but the aura around that place was just..... I can't describe it. It was scary and horrible and I never want to go there again.
But we went back to the beach and had a good old time. Tomorrow we're going to try to get up early to watch the sun rise.

plan failed. We slept late. We got up and had breakfast and got ready for the day. We then crammed into the highlander and went to mini golf. I so totally lost XD With 72 points. Kay and Tracy tied with 52.
There were more mentions of Stinky Feet and Man Purse from Ryan. (Man purse because Jeff was carrying around a "fanny pack" and he called it a man purse, since it acted like that. And I'm not sure what the origin or Stinky Feet is.) There was an arcade at the mini gold place, but the version of DDR that we played sucked. It was on, like, difficult or something and we didn't know when to hit the arrows, but it was funny. Megan would have been all like "Do this, no that! GRRRRR lemme do it!!!!" lol
Later, Kay's mom and Aly came and we went to a pond to swim in. It was fun. Fresh water for a change. Then we went to the beach that we went to on the first day. The water was too cold to swim in, so we just hung out in the sand. We saw a sand sculpture a few meters away from us and it was really good. It was a mermaid, and it had hair and accessories and everything and it was so well made. Inspired, we gave up on making just a big pile of sand and decided to make it a sea turtle. Actually, a guy with the mermaid people came and saw our pile of sand and asked what we were making, and when we said "a pile" he suggested a sea turtle or tortoise, and Kay and I were all "okay." The turtle came out pretty good. Then we left to come back to the house, where we just hung out, showered, ate dinner, and then Kay and I worked on our books and played with my computer. Then we went out to get ice cream. We drove with Tracy and ended up getting, well, lost. But we found the store where the kimono was! Only a few stores away from where we were shopping.
Then we got back here and hung out and got ready for bed. Tomorrow we're gonna try to go to the store where the kimono was and check it out. The store is called Eccentricity or something like that. Syanora for now!

We just hung out all day when everyone else went to the harbor. I was reading Magyck for a while and working on my story. Tracy and Ryan left after everyone got back. We went swimming in the pool and then went shopping again. We went to eccentricity, but it wasn't what we expected it to be. There were only two kimonos and they were for display only. The rest of the clothes were sets, expensive, and more mature clothes. And by mature, I mean something that someone a little younger than my grandmother would wear. So, we left and went to pickle and puppy, where we got a necklace and rope bracelet for Crystal and a hat/visor for Chelsea. Then we went to Secret garden and I saw this sale; anklets for $2 each. So, I got an anklet for me and for mom and also I got myself a pair of sterling silver stud swirl earings. Then when I payed, the price came out to be a little weird, but I payed anyway, thinking that I just did the math wrong.
Turns out I got ripped off. But now I can't go back there and get my money back because the reciept said "No refunds. Exchanges only"
Anyway, we went to the place where we got the coconut purse and kay and I each got another sarong. Mine is black and white and hers is brown and white. We got a mini lesson on how to tie them for cover-ups, and we've been wearing them like togas ever since.
Then we went back to the cabin, had a quick dinner, and then went to the movie theater to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We got sooooo lucky. Me, Kay, and her mom got seats together and they were far back enough for us not to have to crane our necks, but close enough so we could see what was happening.
But the movie itself disappointed me. The book is always better than the movie, but this time, the movie kind of sucked. They left out, like, everything important. It was too short, things weren't explained properly, and it just wasn't satisfying. Everyone on TV said that the movie would show a darker side of Harry Potter, but I think the fourth movie showed the dark side better than this one. But the special effects were really good.
Then we got back to the cabin and went to bed.

We were awoken by some strange sound at around 9 AM. It was the voice of Jeff, bellowing, "Get up! Time to go to the beach! Let's go, let's go!"
So, we all got ready and went to the beach. The waves were huge, the tide was high, and Kay and I tried to build another turtle named Sir Fratly. Yeah, I know. I dunno what I was thinking.
I did some boogie boarding and caught some good rides, but I got sand all down my swim suit. Ah, well, that's the price you've gotta pay to have fun.
Then we got back to the cabin and had lunch while I discovered that I was ripped off yesterday. Meh, I don't wanna vent anymore.
Kay's working on her movie about Cape Cod and I'm just sitting here, waiting for low tide so we can go to the harbor to get Aly more shells. Kay and I REALLY need to find some fishing line.
LATER ON....
Then we went swimming in the pool and then to the harbor to get shells. Then we went to the cabin and just hung out for the rest of the night. Kay was working on her cape cod movie (including a fake fight scene we filmed) and then I kept of recording some funny things with my laptop. We stayed up until 11 pm to see if Kay's new soap opera was coming on, but it didn't, so we just went to sleep after having an almost midnight snack of cereal and orange juice.

Today we had to go home. Kay and I spent about an hour packing out stuff (we had a LOT.) and then hung out for a while. Then we were able to go shopping to pick up a few things for ourselves. We each got a coconut purse like Megan's and a hat/visor like Chelsea's. We also called Crystal while we were hanging out before shopping to see how she was doing, which was fine.
After we finished shopping, we met up with Kay's grandmother while she and Aly shopped for sarongs and Kay picked up a coffin-jewelry box. It was really nice. The place we were shopping is called Yak Arts. It's our new favorite store and we have to go back sometime.
Oh, and guess what? There's no tax on clothing in Mass.!!!! It was so cool that we didn't have to pay tax for the hats or the sarongs. So, yay!
Now we're in the car, and guess what I'm doing as soon as I get home?
First I'll call my mom, then hug Little Bear, to let him know that I'm not gone forever, and then I'm taking a shower. Gotta get ready for Sailfest this weekend! Woo!
Oh, and I'll definitely be taking out my wet towel from my suitcase, because it's wet and stuff. Yeah....
And I also have to check my Gaia messages. I've been away without internet for sooo long and without notice, so my Gaia buddies are probably wondering where I've gone.
Well, I'm bored, stuck in the car, and ready to take a nap, so this is Katie, signing out!
Sorry for the wall of text, guys. Anyway, if anyone happens to read all/part of this, leave a comment on what you think.
And then I might consider putting up pictures (for all you picture-looking-at-peoplez)
