I din't make it all the way to my room. I seemed to just lay along the staires, letting my tears, and sadness overwhelmed and take control of my body.
No, please be a dream! Please be a nightmare! I pleaded in my thoughts. This was too much to take it right now. I hadn't felt this kind of hurt before. it stung, like a sword through both my heart, and soul. "Hunny..." I could only call, knowing she might just come, hold me close, and say everything was a lie, I prayed she would. I prayed to god she'd hold me just one last time..But it din't happen.
I slowly raised my head, but all I saw was darkness. I blinked, letting my eyes aghust to the dark, before I started to sit up, my tears seeming to go on hold for a moment or so.
As I gazed around, I heard the sound of pouring rain hitting the house, and the claps of thunder, and rods of lightning became visable to me now, and I noticed now, the house had lost power. It was a blackout from the heavy winds.
Hunny..Never did like the dark, nor thunderstorms.. I whispered in my mind, as my hands wiped my tears and I stood, staring to my pale reflection in the old clock standing along the second flight of staires. As I gave a short moment, just staring as lightning luminated my body. I then blinked. Walking back down the staires, and making my way into the kitchen. "H-Hunny..Are you..Still in here?" I called, at least wanting to make sure, she was alright with the dark. I still had feelings for her, and that I knew couldnt be broken. "Hunny, please...Reply!" I called a little louder incase she hadn't heard me the first time. But still, nothing.
Where, could she-
I let my thoughts question, before I heard a whistle of wind, and with the spin of my body, I noticed the back door, unlocked, and half open.
She had ran out once I left the room. I noticed I wasn't just taking it hard, she was too.
I should. Of just held her instead of slapping her. Why din't I just hold her?!
I shouted aloud, while running to the back door, and leaning out, staring in all directions to find the traces of where she went, but I saw nothing, and with the rain pouring so hard, it caused the area to seem a little muggy. But I still walked out, getting instantly drenched, but not caring at the moment.
"Hunny!" I called, while staring down paths, before starting to run down along the sidewalk, if anywhere, she'd want to be alone I thought. So where else, then the forest, or construction site?
As ideas rushed in my mind. The worst one I contiued to push away. What..If she let herself die? I then said, my pace slowing, as my mind set on it.
A vibration of shock came over my body, and I began to shake.
"No..She wouldnt die..She cant die" I said to myself, making my lips force a smile, as I then contiued to roam. Searching the construcion site first, then going into the forest.
"Hunny!" I called again, blinking, as I carefully made my way past trees, looking around tree houses, and river beds. The sight of dangling rope from branchs only made that horrible thought pop back in mind, but I did my best to neglect it..For that moment.
I left myself wander deeper in, the rain not seeming to ease one bit, and within the, foggy path, I swore I saw a body, a slender, womens body, and quickly I smiled, running as quick as possible towards it. "H-Hunny!? What are you doing out here? In this weather..You're catch cold!" I called, slowly kneeling down to notice she was laying on her side. Quickly, I slid off my vest, and gently slung it around her arms, as I then slowly picked her up. Unable to see her face when I covered her, when I turned her to face me. I felt the biggest shock in my life. I froze, my body not moving, responding, or anything.
No..Hunny?
I thought, slowly placing my hand upon her chin, sliding it down, into the faint stains of blood in her colar, and along her neck. "Hunny..." I whispered, shaking her softly as I hadn't stood with her yet. "Hunny...O-Open your eyes!" I called, starting to tremble as I got no responce.
My head shook, as I lifted her up a little, "Hunny...You cant sleep here, you can sleep at home..Ok? I forgive you.And Im sorry!" I shouted to her, but with only the motionless body being lifted into my arms, I heard a small 'Splish'
Staring down, I noticed a kitchen knife, that had fallen from in her hands. I widend my eyes, quickly staring over her body, and the marks I missed at first, showed now. She had a few, no, three cuts along the side of her neck..Where I rememeber always kissing each night before bed.
Then I followed the flow of blood to her left cheek. The mark wasnt big but it was visable now, I rememeber...Always giving a playfull lick to her cheek there.
The last wound, was too hard for me to stare at, so instead I just closed my eyes, and imagined what all she did.
Along her chest, there was a slit just above her left breast, just big enough as if to stab something in to reach her heart, but luckily there was no mark to show she had used something to stab. She probably just let the blood drain I thought. Knowing we promised eachother to have our heart. She probably stoped mine...
"..So I could keep her's..." I whispered. Who knew if I had been right. But after giving her cold lips one final kiss, I brought her home, and got the hospital quickly on the phone.
It wasnt long until her funeral was held. I rememeber holding about a dozen bundles of roses just to set on her grave.
Though, I dint cry. I stayed strong, and kept in mind. "You really did love me...Din't you Hunny? You..Wanted to show me, just how much you rememebered,...And cared?" I asked, kneeling on her grave after everyone had left. I rememeber still not crying. I even smiled as my hand trailed along the fresh stone placed over her newly settled grave. I was just happy, to see the words "Husband" written on her grave stone. And as I lent over, kissing the stone's picture of you. A small tear trailed down my cheek. And that, was the last time I saw her grave.
After that. Two years passed and I became remarried. I have a daughter now, and I named her as if she had been OUR daughter...
"Well Katie? Wave to the sky..You're step mommy may be watching" I said, slowly raising the infants hand, as both me and her smiled, waving to the heavens, before I heard my new wife call for dinner.
We might of divorced if you lived...But somehow. I like it better knowing you're still with me. Not in body, but in mind..And heart.
"Sweetie! Hurry, dinner's getting cold!" I heard my wife call, as I walked downstaires, holding the baby, as my wife just looked up, and smiled to me. "You let her meet your wife..Past wife?" She asked me, and I smiled, kissing Katies head. "Yes...She's already been met" I said, slowly smiling, as my daughter did the same. And from this muggy afternoon, it began to shine.
Hunny, are you watching me still?
