Day 7: Project DTW
I'm just so tired right now... u.u
I achieved the goal of acquiring the Blue G-LOL shoes tonight, a day late. I didn't end up having that much time to fiddle around on Saturday. My friend was feeling better, so she came over, and we hung out, crashed a Sci-Fi con in San Mateo to attend a few of the concerts and then rented movies and came home to eat.

Pan's Labyrinth, btw... is a great movie. Although... a bit dark and brooding. crying some parts are icky, but it's a GREAT movie.

Um. @_@; I got some more anonymous donations today, and a couple of non-anonymous donations.... >>;; plus someone got me a letter. No wait. TWO people did that, just one of them I know who it was, and the other one I don't. <<;;;

I didn't find the time to update the wishlist tracker yet. I'll try to get to that tomorrow night. I'm not sure. I may end up kind of falling behind here. I still haven't managed to finish teh final exam for my online class, and um... I'll be biking it the five miles to work tomorrow. Don't ask why I'm not driving. I need the excercise anyways. @_<;

Oh yeah, and... has anyone else seen the new art style on recent Archie comics and had their eyes bug out over it? >>;;;;;

Yes, Pan's Labyrinth is a wonderful movie. I had to buy it when I first watched it, because it was such a beautiful movie from what I had seen and heard of it.

But what I found surprising is a few months of owning it my folks finally watched it.
I was so not expecting them to watch the movie, because they're not the type to read movies.
I had my foot in my mouth, when they proved me wrong.
Of course, they complained that they'd rather have been able to listen to what was being said, rather then to reading it. But they thoroughly enjoyed the movie none the less. whee

I seriously loved Pan's Labyrinth; I've recommended it to practically everyone at work, though unlike some folks, I've tried to be upfront about it being subtitled only. xp I'd like to get the special edition for my birthday, but it's such a heavy story that I don't know how often I could bear to watch it. Still, I hear the bonus features are on the nifty side...

It was just amazing, the interweaving of the stories, the ambiguity of certain details, the faithfulness to the old, proper style of fairy tales, where everything has a cost. The effects were utterly cringe-worthy as well. *cringes* The captain was insane to actually drink the brandy at that one scene. I saw it coming, and I squeaked and went "no no no" and tried to cover my eyes (and failed) and winced and squirmed and was all jibberty because I knew it was gonna hurt. >.<

But um, yeah. Archie. I haven't seen those comics in aaages.

That move was freakishly awesome. Emphasis on freakishly.
