This ain't no disco.
May as well get started on this early...
Crymson's Top 7 CDs Of 2007 (so far)
by Lady Crymson

Yeah, we're about halfway through the year, so I thought I may as well list off my top 5 albums so far that I bought this year. Some of them didn't necessarily come out this year, so I'm just listing CDs I've bought this year so far that I love.

I also included links to official sites if you want to listen for yourself. I recommend you do.

7. Paolo Nutini - These Streets
Oh. My. God. People, you should seriously listen to this kid. He is wicked talented for someone his age (he's 19 years old last time I checked). He's a Scottish singer-songwriter with a killer voice and a stellar blues-influenced vibe. Oh, and he's a total hottie. /fangirl
Favorite song: "Jenny Don't Be Hasty"

6. Lily Allen - Alright, Still...
I've never heard pop as fun and eclectic as this. Mkay, yeah, I agree Lily isn't the best singer, but does she really really have to be? Her voice suits her music. I'm in love with it.
Favorite song: "LDN"
Lily Allen official site

5. Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High
It's some fun-a** music, I tells you. No band can quite cross pop-punk and soul quite like Fall Out Boy. I guess it helps when you have a singer like Patrick Stump, though.
Favorite song: "I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers"
Fall Out Boy official site

4. Aqualung - Memory Man
Think Strange And Beautiful, only stranger and more beautiful. Matt Hales has written some of the most delightfully morose pop I've ever heard.
Favorite song: "Black Hole"
Aqualung official site

3. Silversun Pickups - Carnavas
God they're so ******** good. They remind me a lot of Sonic Youth. Brian Aubert and Nikki Monninger blend insanely well vocally. Not to mention, the keyboard lines are sweet.
Favorite song: "Little Lover's So Polite"
Silversun Pickups official site

2. Straylight Run - The Needles The Space
I expect no less than awesome from this band. I got that and more. I love how Michelle sings more. On the self-titled she served as more of a background singer to John. While I agree that siblings normally blend very well, in the case of John and Michelle, it's not that great of a blend, because they have very different voices. To hear Michelle come out and sing lead more is very refreshing.
Favorite song: "The Words We Say"
Straylight Run official site

1. The Feeling - Twelve Stops And Home
Where has this band BEEN all my life?! Sticky-sweet infectious pop music reminiscent of The Byrds, Beach Boys, and Supertramp. Everybody: LISTEN TO THIS BAND. Just give 'em a try, at least! Everything deserves a chance.
Favorite song: "Fill My Little World"
The Feeling official site

This will be a little longer at the end of the year.
