Yep, I'm going with a theme I love. Doom is, no doubt, in my top 5 favorite games of all time (probably second to Perfect Dark), and my profile is going in that direction. The background is a wallpaper I made for myself a while back, composed of the Doom3 logo (with the 3 cut off), an altered UAC logo graphic, and some rendered plasma to simulate magma/hell-fire. The panels will be worked to resemble Doom3's PDA interface, and I'm using yet another custom wallpaper I made as a reference.

I'm making graphics for each panel from scratch, so I'll be at it for a little while. It'll also be easy for most of them, but panels that vary in size (journal, comments, signature) are going to be a bit tricky. So far, I've got the media box worked out, and I'm going to start working on the friends panel.

For the variable-sized panels (like Recent Visitors, Journal, Comments, etc), I'll have to think of something that works with those panels. I just don't know what yet.

First trial run of the comments box. I hope everyone uses FireFox because I didn't save the PNG backgrounds the same color.

I miscalculated the height (totally thought I had it down). I'll have to make the background image taller, and make the text on the image itself a bit more transparent so it doesn't interfere with the contents. I also should remove the logo because, since the background layer's alpha was set to 75%, the profile background shows through and the same logo appears right through (as a total fluke, too, which is good).

But, as a first run, I say it looks pretty good.

EDIT 2: (10:30pm)
A little late, but I was able to quickly alter the height of the box and replace the image. So far, I am liking how it's turning out. I believe I'm going to remove some of the redundant/unnecessary panels like the Signature, Recent Visitors, and Wish List. THat'll cut back on some of the work I'll need to do to finish up the profile.
