My mind was scattered all over the place. I couldn’t see where I was going, what I as doing. I swear I was running as fast and as hard as I could. Then, I started to slow; slowed so I could think, could breath.
As my legs started to slow from their pumping vigorously, I could hear crashing behind me. Slowing down after running long and hard always seemed to make my legs wreck beneath me. And now that I heard something, heard it crashing behind me, I couldn’t make my legs move fast enough.
I stumbled and fell onto my hands and knees, still trying to get away, still trying to escape. I Crawled with dirt, thorns, leaves. I crawled as fast as I could, as strong as I could. But the crashing. GOD! That disgusting crashing kept getting closer to me. Kept a steady pace to find me.
I felt anger start at the pit of my stomach as I moved on, crawled on. My shirt snagged on a sharp bush, tearing halfway off my body. Something dug into the leg of my jeans, causing me to pull away. There was a fine ripping sound and soon I could feel the wind against my skin, leaves and dirt clinging. I cursed under my breath as I scrambled to my feet, to try to drag myself away from the crashing, away from the thing.
