"No! Nobody can love him!" Kael said. "He's a freak of nature, even by demon standards."
<You say that of your own son...>
"He
isn't a demon..."
"Exactly! I'm a demon, his mother's a demon. Why isn't he? Moreover, he's a twin, one soul split in half. Pir came first, Cor isn't supposed to exist."
<Why? Why do you reject me so? What have I ever done?>
"I'm sick of it! I'm sick and tired of pretending I love him. Why should I have to have an abomination like him as my son?!"
"Then, at least, stop breaking him. I'm sick of him too, but he runs to me every time you hurt his feelings."
<You too? You don't want me either?>
All this time, Cor stood behind the door, outside the room, listening. He had heard shouting, and come to investigate. He stepped in now, his long, black bangs partially hiding his face as angry tears streamed down his face.
<Human? Me?>
The two men froze and stared in shock as Cor walked up to them. He projected his thoughts, for both demons to hear.
<I see now. All those years together, all those lives. You were lying through your teeth, every second of it. Every time you told me that you loved me....>
"I didn't...I wasn't... saying the truth just now... I was just angry, that's all."
Cor smirked softly, and headed toward the door.
"I do love you..."
<LIES!!>
Cor quickly turned around, facing his brother and father. His bangs were swept aside now, and his eyes were clearly visible. The usually black irises were an intense red now, glowing, affected by his anger at the betrayal. He raised his arm, muttering a few words. A small snow blizzard* formed around him, the wind whipping at his hair and clothes. At his command, the miniature storm rushed toward the two in front of him. It then circled them like it did with Cor, but with further intensity. As it increased in speed, it also tightened and thickened, until there were two screams... These cries were stopped suddenly, followed quickly by the pungent smell of blood. Cor lowered his hand, ending the spell. He was vaguely aware of the crimson liquid spattered on the walls, but made no effort to clean it up. He let his bangs cover his eyes again, and wiped the tears with the back of his hand.
<Why?>
He left the room and started running, and didn't stop when he got to the front door. He went outside, where he started up the same blizzard as last time-- this time a little slower, but no weaker in effectiveness.
Cor glanced at the people walking in the streets. He heard a child wail as he crushed him. His mother screamed. He killed her too. Anyone in his path, he killed...
He wasn't really conscious of his actions; his internal pain was too great. He was acting on instinct, for he himself was almost completely "shut down".
He turned a corner, finding himself in front of his friend's house. He increased the size of the storm, engulfing the whole house. He started crushing it...
Suddenly, flames extinguished his weapon. A hand grabbed his wrist, almost breaking it. Another arm caught him in a headlock, firmly pulling back. Partially immobilized now, Cor tried to identify his attacker.
<Pit...?>
*Not an actual snow blizzard, they're tiny, blades of white metal swirling together; although there is some actual ice shards in it, since Cor's element is water/ice.
